A standard active-booster costs 7,000 AUR. An Omega active booster costs 17,500 AUR.
Standard gives an additional 0.5x SP/match Omega gives an additional 2x SP/match
With a standard active booster, the weekly SP cap is raised to 280,000 SP Not sure how much the Omega will affect the weekly SP cap.
But, with 1 omega booster, you can buy 2 standard boosters so you can have a potential of 560,000 active SP over the course of 2 weeks.
Right now, the only question remains is "how will the omega booster affect the SP cap?" for me to see which is better. Weekly cap on SP determines if this thing is worth it or not. |

Pokey Dravon wrote:Does the Omega really give an ADDITIONAL x2? or is it +50% versus +100%?
From the Dev post, they said 2x. From this, I conclude its a 2.0 modifier, not a 1.0 modifier as compared to the standard which gives a 0.5 modifier. |

But I'm dying to know how will the weekly SP cap be affected.
W/O booster, weekly cap of 190,000 SP W/ standard booster, weekly cap of 280,000 SP W/ Omega Booster, weekly cap of ????? SP |

See I would consider the current booster to really be a 1.5 modifier since you're multiplying SP gain by 1.5 (multiplying by 0.5 would give half SP obviously). I highly doubt the Omega booster is 4 times effective as the standard, and if it really is then that's really messed up.
How would you look at it really?
Standard- 0.5 of winning SP added on or a 1.5 modifier?
Omega- 2x of winning SP added on or a 4.0 modifier as you said? |

Yeah this^. Until someone tomorrow says something about it, let's stop guessing. |

Pokey Dravon wrote:If CCP has any sense, it's simple
Standard Cap = 190k Standard Cap + Booster = 190k * 1.5 (Which is the same as an additional 50%)= 285k Standard Cap + Omega = 190k * 2 (That's where your x2 comes from) = 380k
Then, the Omega booster is NOT worth it. It costs 3,500 extra AUR over buying 2 standard boosters which nets you a grand total of potentially 560,000 SP over the course of 2 weeks. Lets see, an Omega booster is 380,000 SP + 190,000 of the 2nd week w/o using boosters = 570,000 SP for playing for 2 weeks.
So from your logic, is 1,000 extra SP really worth 3,500 AUR more over the two standard boosters? |

Based on the previous 3 players' responses, I have concluded that Omega boosters are only worth it if you have that extra AUR to spend and wish to get your SP earlier than people running normal boosters.
Now unless it is really a 3x (or is it 4x? I'm working on AP US History so brain not working) modifier (your winning SP + 2x your winning SP), then Omega boosters are game-breaking. |

Basically, you would just be able to hit the cap more quickly? I've always used active and passive so remain ignorant of how much SP one might get without them in a week. No, the best way to look at it is that bonus SP is not included in the weekly cap, just the base SP you earn. So you hit you cap at the same rate, but the cap itself is effectively raised by 50% (if using normal boosters)
I like your post BTW.
But to further clarify, the base weekly cap is 190,000 SP right? The normal booster gets you 0.5 more in winnings so effectively, you would get 280.000 SP total for that week. Potentially. |

Oh, that was a rhetorical question to further clarify my response. I knew what it was. |

I made this thread hoping a Dev was going to clarify this but to no avail. Probably because they can't leak information over things that haven't exactly been released yet. Which is not a really good reason considering its our money we're spending these things on. |

Where on earth do you see faulty math? The only faulty math I see is your post.
@Centurion MKII: These boosters are only for sale this week. You can use them anytime you want. |

thats the math if has a 2.0 multiplier
no clue what is for some people so difficult
we don't know if that is the definite answer or not. |
