I can only agree with this assessment,

as a fellow IRC lurker and poster I can attest that we sometimes get a direct ear to CCP. Furthermore, some information given to the dev is not always the best, and comes from players who do not even play the game anymore.

This partly due to the large influx of Fanbois who refuse to challenge the game let alone play it.

In the defense or IRC, anybody can join and participate in the rare instance a Dev is presence. Furthermore, I think the best way to fight these FANBOIS is to overpopulate them in IRC.

So join IRC and express your opinion!

@JR thank you for bringing this up. I knew they existed, but now their drafting a paper??? They're for the community, yet they have not shown a single outline. Which is UNACCEPTABLE IMO. Troubling times :(

They are in the process of drafting a white paper to present to CCP with the intentions of getting themselves elected on their own special little council and getting trips to shanghai and then to Iceland at a later date to talk to the EVE side CSM.

The CPM is an unelected Volunteer, and community based body there to try and represent the views of the community in a coherent and un-biased manner. I just think it is Ironic that this council is trying to benefit the community, yet they're self appointed and working secretly on a draft, without working with the community step by step. I want list of people in this council, and their so-called FPS credentials.

But people trying to actually create the template of what it could be how it would tackle those issues and create the general platform for how it would work. Create a rough draft, then propose that to the community for polish then hold actualy elections to populate the body itself which noone yet has done. So right now its actually trying to establish this unofficial group, what it will work for, what it will try to get done. Then present that in a logical manner for the fourms to read and put input on. You can't get community input on something if you dont have a foundation for what it is you're trying to create. That fact their is so much hostility and confusion around its creation is because everyone here assume that the people working on this are actually making themselves the body and making decisions. When its more like they are collaborating on the vision of how this would function. Create an organized thought and then ask for community involvement. You'd never come to these forums and present a half-baked idea to the community would you? No you think it through, gather your thoughts and make sure you express your intentions clearly, lest you invite confusion.
