this seems like one of those things everybody knows about, but it's been around for a while with no fix and i haven't seen a bug thread about it so maybe ccp is the only one out of the loop?
damage mods don't have a stacking penalty as described, they actually seem to get a BONUS. if i put 3 complex mods at 10% apiece, i end up with a 33% damage buff.
so yah. that. |

Old news. The Devs know about it. It is a bug in that stacking is supposed to produce a reduction. Just not high on the list.
With all the Forum Posts from QQ want Their fix done first it is hard to see when they would have the time to fix something that doesn't actually hurt us Mercs.  |

Hurts us Mercs and hurts the game. I mean stacking itself IMO is an exploit - every players who does stack knows there is supposed to be a drop in performance, yet the mercs that do stack do it so they can make their guns uber'd out to kill others more quickly and with fewer bullets and that by definition is an exploit.
Personally (and I know I'm going to get boo'd for this, but whatever) I think they should remove the ability to stack altogether until they get this fixed, as it hurts the game and turns away new people who are trying out Dust - as they think that the game is cheap and that the newb's won't stand a chance and guess what - you're starting to see this in articles about Dust.
We want new players - that's one of the things that make this game fun. It is an MMO/FPS, meaning the more the merrier. Having people running around killing people with 3 bullets, does not make it fun.
Now on a side note - I do try to avoid playing with corporations, I know do this. I check the player list and if I see a corp playing that I know are doing this I leave the game and find another. I'm not going to give a list, but I know who they are and I remember.

so... you whine that it's not fun that newbs die in three hits to experienced players,
then admit to purposefully ducking out of matches where you see experienced players, in order to continue to grief noobs?
