Are there any differences between the standard Laser Rifle and the ELM? Aside from the overheat time, that is. |

there is a tiny damage increase i think, but i might be wrong, there is however a substantial damage increase when you reach prototype |

The second tier laser has same damage as tier 1 laser while having less heat build up. This means that your damage will increase because it will fire more time until it overheats. The more time you keep firing the laser the more damage it does. I get this from the weapon stats but I could be wrong. |

the higher tiers allows you to fire longer before overheating thus u do more with the near overheat damage. |

I didn't think it was a big deal until we lost a Laser Merc when it overheated, blew up and killed the clone.
Overheating is a serious issue with Lasers it would seem. |

Yep, there is a fair share of suicides tallied with my history of using the lzr rifle. Hoping you can keep it trained on a target for just long enough to get the kill and not kill yourself in the process when you are already into armor. It makes the game a little more exciting that way. |

It doesn't seem like a big difference, but once you start using the higher ones it really shows. I think i remember not being able to spend a clip in the first rifle without overheating, but now with the proto one if the people line up I can get 3-4 kills before the clip is done. I will say I agree with everyone, if your armor is down low stop firing before you over heat. there's no shame like blowing yourself up because your gun overheats.
Edit
There's actually something worse, the feeling when you call your first drop ship and steer it right into the ground within the first 10 seconds of calling it in. I think that is worse. |
