Thought this could use its own topic. What was YOUR first time in a vehicle like in DUST? Here's mine;
I remember my first time piloting an LAV...
"So accelerate its R1 right? Oh...ok so its X? Nope...uhhhh, what's the control map?.....wtf? Back foward and steering are all the *KABOOM*"
And that time I tried piloting a dropship for the first time!
"Ok so gain altitude...alright going up, this is fine, now I'll just touch down here and pick up a few pe-*KABOOM*"
And I'll never forget my first time driving a tank I had outfitter with 2 huge armor plates, cause how slow could it really get?!
"Ok! Charge!...............coooome on..........aaaalmost....over...this...hill......nearly......at.....the.....building.......*5 minutes and 1 kill later* Ugh..where the hell is everyone? Stand still dammit! Oh crap am I stuck in a ditch? I'll just back out......crap*KABOOMKABOOMKABOOMKABOOM!*" |

Don't remind me of my first time in a dropship lol. I did it for a laugh, i have no interest at all in them but i was expecting to last more than 1 second the first time i got in one. |

Coming from Bf3 and being a good(well good enough) heli pilot i figured the dropship would be no problem.. HA. After going up and down and drifting off to the sides finally crashed and said never again lol. |

first vehicle i drove was SOMA and it went well, got few kills with it and survived till end of match (called it in with 5 mins left of match)
first time drivin LAV i kept doin 180 spins over rough terrain... it would hav been quicker walkin
first time in a dropship it took 5 mins 2 get it in the air as its smurf owner got it stuck so i wanted 2 free it and try flying... as soon as it was up i saw DEFEAT. the whole time i had 6 smurfs watchin so our team lost :( |

My first LAV was one I jacked (Hacked) from a Red. It went Boom fairly quickly, but it was stolen so I did not really care.
I lost my first DropShip trying to get into position so someone could jump a LAV over it. |

LAV: Hit a hill at full speed then crashed into a landing friendly dropship which then hit a wall. I got SO much hate mail (it was full and apparently not militia)
Dropship: found a pilot in my 3rd ever match and got in. We flew around a bit but, at the time I wasn't paying attention to the health bars so i didn't notice that we weren't landing but crashing. Somehow the dropship survived the crash (thank you god of glitching) and i proceded to get slaughtered by troops since we *cashed* directly infront of the oncoming enemy force.
HAV: Sniper railgun tank got us, this one was militia however. |

First time in LAV and still, don't drive them much, look a tiny dip in the ground "hey why am I doing a180" a slighter bigger hill "why am I flying".
Please change the controls so left stick is speed and right stick is turning.
First time in a dropship. As a passenger "why do the buttons do Nothing, why can't I move?" how do I get out of this tin can BOOM!! So is there a way to get out or do you need the pilot to land before exiting? |

Circle = jump....just make sure you're low or high enough for your inertial dampeners to engage |

My first time in dropship i got the hang of going up and down quite quickly, so i thought let's try some turns. And well lets just say that i found out i had to adjust for roll the hard way.
As for the LAV things were going pretty well until that wall got in the way. |

My first time in LAV = My first public game. I thought it was a tutorial and I was playing with bots.
Managed to kill 2 men crew and hack the vehicle in the middle of the battlefield. Then I got into LAV (Why,God, Why?), drove for 5 sec, managed to get on the top of the wall, changed position to Gunner, shot couple of Red Dots, left vehicle, vehicle got destroyed and I wandered back to the red line... |

My first LAV experience was the result of getting run over a few times in a single match. I did same and had fun. Then started carrying AV grenades. More fun blowing up road ragers than being one yourself. |

My first time in a vehicle was back in E3 when militia vehicles were free. I didn't even know how to call an LAV! With all dropships at that time squishing anyone who was on a building or in the open was doomed. I found cover in an LAV's hood. It was awfully nice of the Red Dot to pick me up!
Yes my first time in a vehicle was my corpse getting stuck in someones hood... |

I stole my first HAV, an enemy dropped it in, I managed to kill him and hack the thing, hopping in the drivers seat. The following things that happened were suitable for one of those Cop Chase shows.
I crashed into buildings Ran over my own teammates Crashed in some more buildings Driving like a drunk Then I managed to kill some people with my gun and even roadkilled an enemy.
After about 5 minutes of moving back and forth in a line, swirling like a drunk driver doing the above, the tank was killed.
Needless to say my gunner was not amused. |

I spawned into a dropship in my very first match and didn't have a clue how to drop out of it. The gunner seats were taken so I spent a lot of time swapping seats and looking outside trying to figure out what I could do.
The first abandoned dropship I hacked (this was back in E3 when they were free) and jumped into was destroyed before I figured out that L1 was the throttle.
My first real time piloting a dropship was in Precursor and that lasted all of ten seconds before I crashed. After a couple more attempts I realized that I needed to invert the vertical look on the DS3 and things started to work out. |
