I've seen them, and occasionally been one. The game just assigned me to a squad of.... Zions, I think, and I didn't leave after the game. Left to make a sandwich and came back to AURA whining at me to get to the burn zone.
The game forcing you into a squad is a good thing, but maybe it should remember it did that and force you back OUT when the game ends. |

I can't see why not but is it necessary though? A random joining your squad is obviously looking for others to play with and I can't see how they would be a hindrance unless you're planning on bringing someone else to the squad later on. |

I'm okay with it. What I don't understand is people joining my three man squad, only to not every actually come near the squad that is actively playing as a team. Why join a squad if you're not actually going to work with it?
I give the so-called hobo squaddies about two to three minutes to prove their team-oriented nature, or lack thereof, then kick them out if they fail to do so. About one in five people that join randomly are actually team players that follow the squad - heck, only about one in five even have mikes on, and these are almost always the team players.
Anyway, yeah, noticed it. |

Agreed, if you don't want randoms, lock the squad. Otherwise I'm joining during solo play, especially if i see a squad of matching corp players with an opening. If you kick me though, I can take a hint, you're special and don't have room for riff raff such as myself and/or others. Hmph |

I Hobo it if I'm just doing 1/2 quick games or don't have my mic on. Always follow the squad orders and am a Logi so I haven't been kicked out of one just yet. I think of it as back scratching situation: I'll scratch theirs and hopefully they'll have my back if I need it.
When I'm leading, I hope people squad fill - 4 man squad is always preferred - even if they're stupid they can be a shield. |

Ehh, they make getting WP for OBs easier, so I don't really mind if they stick around. My squad will usually make fun of them if they don't have a mic, though I assume most mute us after a while lol. |

Hadn't considered that, but I'd still prefer a hobo that runs with the squad as opposed to on their own. That green dot disregards defend orders and confuses the rest of my squaddies (to include me) as we try to form up as a squad.
Still, extra war points are nice. As a three man squad we only occasionally get a precision strike and when we do end up short it's generally by only a couple hundred. Good point. |

Not to mention when he emailed me after asking to be trained I found he had has a ~.23 kdr with over ~500 kills and ~2100 deaths. Honestly, if you are that bad in this game no one will be able to make you better
There are so many bad players in dust I have a 5+ kdr as a AR logi bro. Half of my points are in logi gear and when I run assualt suit I can barely fit a t2 with a GEK. (So If i kill you, feel bad)

I explained to him that there are some corps like ours that are highly competitive and only recruit solid players. I then recommended a few corps that would give him a chance to play and have fun. He is now in one of those corps.
I play a bad guy in dust but doesn't mean I have to treat person bad. Thats why I think some people on these forums take IMPs way to seriously because of the persona we exhude |

That's kl I do think it's pretty funny a newberry applying for the IMPs. But ppl forget that some of these guys are just kids that don't have clue about team tactics with all the twitch rambo fps going around. |

Who here thinks that 14 year old is likely going to be a better player than Free Beers in six months? It sounds like he wants to learn, and teenagers learn a lot faster than old guys like me.

Meh, I don't really care about the Imps either way, other than it is good to play against you for the challenge. However, I think we should clarify one thing: The persona that anyone adopts online is a choice. As such, they can(and should) be held accountable for that choice. Choosing to be a **** doesn't make you a role player, it just makes you a ****.

I leave squad open whenever its not full for many reasons already mentioned.
as long as they dont implement negative WP, they cant hurt anything. PLUS most the time someone hops in, well thery already know more than 80% of the dipsh@ts that stay squadless and get rolled over by enemy squads that have just as little skill as them, but are in a squad and can differentiate green from blue |

I've enjoyed hoboing along in some squads, I usually do it so the SL will get my WPs and drop orbitals, if a squad is chatty on the mics i'll stay around for a few games, its funny though when a squad of bads kick me out in between games because I ain't one of them or on comms, especially when i put more kills on the board than their entire squad combined. |
