I am in a quite large corp, and this causes some problems when you want to create a squad. As the UI currently works you must first add someone to your contacts to be able to a them to your squad. The cntact list system has a lot of server lag as well as not listing contacts in alphabetical order. So here's my idea: make it possible to add someone to a squad from the corpchat online member list, or even better from any chat channel member list.
It would also be nice if people not in a squad could send join requests to existing squad. As it is, our corpchat is a LFG channel instead of a place to socialize ;)
In the best of worlds, there'd be a lfg system for squadding up with randoms like WoW had, but y'know, given the choise of prioritizing between a public lfg system and new gear... O |

surprised no one else has added or agreed with you on this. After joining a corp this weekend, i found it very frustrating to get squads from the corp going. Its not hard but the UI is not really set up very well for this. Why can't i just click someones name and have an option to invite to squad like in EVE. or at least add an option to when inviting people to squad to be able to look at contacts, corp, search or any channel you are currently in. So i agree fully with the OP here.
On another similar note, there is an issue too that when the player is in a squad already and are invited to a different squad, they don't receive the invite at all. Sometimes squads disband and you forget that your still in the squad, your corp mate or friend sends you an invite to a different squad... and nothing. so you have to type out that you didn't receive one. What i'm saying here is that people should still be able to receive the squad invite, and they can choose to move to another squad or not. Having the invite simply not show up at all is troublesome or have a message go back to the sender saying "player is in a squad already" so that at least they know the person hasn't received the invite.
Last thing i would like but not sure if it is possible would be microphone coms in corp chat. since some people don't run a keyboard and mine is always on my coffee table and away from me. as a convenience it would be nice to have voice coms in corp chat to communicate. would allow players in corp to get squads rolling faster and make adjustments quicker between games with players taking breaks and other wanting to join current squad runs.
TY Drecain for starting this topic hope my added words help get some of this changed

I agree with all of the above. You should be able to send an invite to any character in any online character list...pub chat, corp chat etc...
And give us the option to sort our contact list...or better yet give us the capability to group and organize our contacts. |
