Like many of you, I have heard many different stories about the nova knife. Some say that with the right skills, it can 1 shot a heavy. Others say it's not nearly so powerful.
So, just what skills actually do effect the nova knife and what potential damage can it do?
Things I'm trying to figure out
Does melee damage stack with the knife weapon damage?
Does the Hand to Hand skill effect it?
Do myofibril stimulants increase damage?
Does it do damage for each knife strike? Just one real hit but a two hit animation?
Does standard melee with the knife equipped do more damage?
Does the nova knife do the same damage to both armor and shields?
I had a little bit of SP saved up on an alt so I specced into advanced nova knives. At first, there were some assault suits I couldn't even get pass their shields. I upgraded hand to hand to lvl 2 and added a stimulant and I can 1 shot most assaults. Problem is, idk what the ehp of my targets is before I kill them.
Does anyone have answers for these questions? I don't want BS answers that are just repeated rumors. If you don't KNOW, don't act like you do. Also, anyone willing to run some tests with me? You'll get 2 mil out of it (I'll pay for the corp battle).

I don't believe you have tested this and actually know. I think your parroting. Also, you can charge while sprinting... melee and then charge while in the middle of animation. Is a glitch, but this is how it will be in the next build so it's ok. |

This is why I didn't believe you, because you are wrong. Go in game and try it. Press R3 and in the middle of the animation press and hold R1. Next, while holding R1, sprint.
Come back with your findings. |

Preliminary tests suggest that melee damage DOES stack on top of nova knife damage. Also, you "swing" twice, each dealing full damage with the knife, but the second swing is the one that applies the damage in one "hit" At this point the melee damage is applied too. I can't tell whether melee damage is applied if you only hit with one. I'm thinking it's about 50% but I need more than the guess work I am being forced to use to know for certain.
If I hit with the full swing, I can one shot just about anyone non-heavy with my knives. Vehicles take NO damage. Which is crap.
