Like many of you, I have heard many different stories about the nova knife. Some say that with the right skills, it can 1 shot a heavy. Others say it's not nearly so powerful.

So, just what skills actually do effect the nova knife and what potential damage can it do?

Things I'm trying to figure out

Does melee damage stack with the knife weapon damage?
Does the Hand to Hand skill effect it?
Do myofibril stimulants increase damage?
Does it do damage for each knife strike? Just one real hit but a two hit animation?
Does standard melee with the knife equipped do more damage?
Does the nova knife do the same damage to both armor and shields?

I had a little bit of SP saved up on an alt so I specced into advanced nova knives. At first, there were some assault suits I couldn't even get pass their shields. I upgraded hand to hand to lvl 2 and added a stimulant and I can 1 shot most assaults. Problem is, idk what the ehp of my targets is before I kill them.

Does anyone have answers for these questions? I don't want BS answers that are just repeated rumors. If you don't KNOW, don't act like you do. Also, anyone willing to run some tests with me? You'll get 2 mil out of it (I'll pay for the corp battle).

I don't believe you have tested this and actually know. I think your parroting. Also, you can charge while sprinting... melee and then charge while in the middle of animation. Is a glitch, but this is how it will be in the next build so it's ok.

Yes, it does damage per knife strike.
Not sure, probably but honestly considering how wonky it is just swinging one knife over and over again it's probably not much.

Two problems I've always noticed:

A.) You need to be able to charge it while sprinting. Charging it while "walking" won't let you catch up to anyone that's sprinting.
B.) You should be able to 'melee' using the R1 button without charging it to attack for lesser damage, rather than hitting R3.. Then again, the Charge Sniper Rifle claims that it can do this but... doesn't.

and no; you CANNOT charge while sprinting, at least not with a Scout Suit.

I'm dabbling in a triple sprint speed mod nova knife scout for shiggles and i'll try and test this stuff out, but its nigh on impossible to tell how much damage you are doing unless you manage to get a friend on the enemy team

Cool well **** you too. Glad we're ready to utterly dismiss information right off the bat despite wanting to test it ourselves.

If you didn't want an answer why'd you ask the question? I used to use Nova Knives religiously until I found out how ****** they are, and no; you CANNOT charge while sprinting, at least not with a Scout Suit.

Edit: In fact, this was the very first thing I tested upon the Chromosome release because the patch notes said, "updated nova knife model" and almost nothing was changed except having higher damage. But it's cool, you're not going to read this post anyway.

Vehicles take NO damage. Which is crap.

Seriously? Why should a knife be able to damage a vehicle?
