Prepare for a some serious crying here. Trolls lick your lips.
The squad system sucks, sucks worst that the last system. Now, instead of complaining about a squad that's not full, I'm complaining about being squad leader of nobody.
Occasionally a person or two will join the squad and I think, awesome, an orbital is in the cards. Except these blue dots go 0-6 and possibly manage 100 war points each.
I often get around 2000 war points myself, and to be short changed by terrible blue dots is a kick in the pants. Then I try to be thankful that they even knew enough to join a squad. But only after I begged/ instructed them to join a squad.
I bet I know what some of you are thinking. Join a corp. On to part two: I hate corporations. I've tried two of them, but all corps are the same. Full of politics. And to be honest, I'm antisocial in real life, so I don't know how to climb the corp ladder over a microphone. My problem I guess.
My point is I don't want to join one if I don't have to. Hopefully CCP will offer individual merc contracts in the future.
Most corps are full of great players, but lack any decency when it comes to crushing non corp blue dots. They fiend the red line like they are so thirsty for blood and camp cru's like that is fun or fair. They will pull out two tanks and a drop ship in a random pub match with a victory in the bag, which, I guess isn't terrible, but I still hate them for it.
Funny thing is, if they are not in their corp squad, they don't try during games and sometimes even quit. Catching them alone is ten times different. Suddenly, their invincible magic is greatly reduced. I sometimes wonder if its the same person.
Back to orbitals . . . while I'm praying to get an orbital (sometimes I do, at the tail end of the match when the game is about to expire, so I barely have time to look at my map, let alone get somewhere safe to call one) . . . while I'm doing that some corp gets orbitals early and often. I've seen corp squads get three in a match while I'm can't even eek out one.
I'd understand if I got a lot of grief for this thread. The blue dots that don't join squads probably don't read the forums either.
Vent over. |

IRuby Heart wrote:I can understand your frustration. Find dudes in your local to squad up with that have mics. These guys are usually better than your typical newberry. If you don't like the ideals or way Corporations operate. Make a corp of your own and recruit people that share the same thought as you do, run it how you see fit. Though this may be hard considering your Emo, I mean antisocial and all that ... You can't really complain about not getting an orbital when you shouldn't even be expecting one if you didn't setup or find a proper squad
Thanks for the advice. |

Sextus Hardcock wrote:so... you want to play with other people in a squad but don't want to play with other people. How is this CCPs problem?
Get over yourself, join a corp. If it isn't working join another one. You think you'll get good teamwork by playing with randoms on a pub match?
This is a team-based shooter. Join a team and stop complaining.
Dude, if you're not in the top 8 of a corp then your screwed for corp battles and it's the high school lunch table drama.
Anyway, I expected this would rub peeps the wrong way, so bring it. Complaining, expression, forums, goes with the territory. |

Kram Ennett wrote:if you hate the corp politics then just stay out of them. Unless the corp you join requires all members to be jerks to each other then just use it as a place to meet some good players, squad up and queue.
If it really becomes horrible then add the ones you like to your contacts and leave.
Then you'll still have a list of the players you liked without the corp drama (which I'm guessing is being overstated, but whatevs)
Thanks for the advice. |

I probably would not have complained as much if squads were automatically filled every time. It's not that much to ask for. |

The Infected One wrote:Vanda, we had you scheduled in for a corp battle against synergy, the only reason you didn't get into the corp battle that we had the day you joined us is because we already had the squads made up. You were with hell storm for a while, we knew you're a good player, it was just bad timing on that one.
You complained that you couldn't find a squad, we broke squads apart to make smaller squads to get you in with a group as well as invited you to our alliance chat channel with 4 other corporations we frequently squad up with.
You are being very honest saying that you are anti-social, but as far as not being included if you aren't part of the top 8, not getting into corp matches, a little more patience than the 3 or 4 days that you had with us is generally required as we all work and don't always have someone on to host/join a corp battle with you. We schedule corp battles all the time, if you had joined our website you would have seen when they are (GMT and your local time), who they are against, and how many people have signed up from our corp for each battle. Instead of just sitting in corp chat waiting for one. Long and the short of it is that if you want to be included in things that are team play oriented, you have to put a little effort in to make others aware that you are interested in actually playing as a team without waiting for that elusive invite.
Sorry it didn't work out in CrimeWave for you, you are still welcome to squad with us any time. Best of luck to you.
CrimeWave was good to me and I kinda jumped the gun a little. I had joined the website. I dunno, I messed up leaving. But I guess I was not patient. |

I find it funny that people saw the anti social part and attacked it. That type of attack is exactly why I view people the way I do. I mentioned the anti-social thing as a way to show that I'm trying to see things in a balanced way. But these people see that as a weakness.
People assume that I'm not familar with shooter groups, gangs, corps, but I've played other shooters and the dynamic is almost always there for assholery.
And lastly, if you say you're not into the drama and aren't much of a jerk yet disagree with this thread in a hostile way, then you're a liar about not being into the drama. |

LOL. Why do you think I got your back on that? And this and many more reasons is you wont find Eon on the forums much. Change the title of your post to "GM Please Delete" and hopefully I will see you in the Eon chat to play some games.
Thank you for the earlier compliment. Nothing was personal with EON, or CrimeWave. I will stop posting in this thread. See you guys around. |

what was hostile about it? im trying to get the msg across to u that its about the TEAM not u. U spent 3 days in a corp and bailed because u werent selected for a match I have ppl in my corp longer than that who still havent gotten the chance to play much as well u call me a jerk when u dont actually know me other than me xplaining this to u via mail yesterday if u actually know me u'd know i try to assist and help everyone around me but i have little patience for bs lastly ur back to assuming again Quote:People assume that I'm not familar with shooter groups, gangs, corps, but I've played other shooters and the dynamic is almost always there for assholery. then u dont really know most corps/clans or just have very bad luck with ur choices. Good luck in ur future endeavors but this is a team game.
I said I wouldn't post but I will clarify I did not call you a jerk. Secondly, I'm very big on team play. I want to win and will sacrafice for the team. |

Some people talk too much. Some people over talk people, don't let them get a word edgewise. Some people would talk more if they were addressed specifically rather then expecting them to be themselves fully with strangers right from the jump. Then again, some people talk too much and don't want social competition. But I guess society can put a positive spin on outgoing annoying types before they do silent types, even though silent types usually have more to offer, as in substance.
And just because people have mics doesn't mean they talk a majority of tactics. They get comfortable and talk about personal things during gameplay. Not my style.
Also, "I'm hacking the supply depot" doesn't help any one.
As a good player, working with a team, you either know what to do or don't, regardless of chat. Chat is just a bonus, like "Look out so-and so, behind you." Real tactics should be developed with the map outside of the match. |

Thank you to the unrecognized corps as of yet that are offering. I hope you rise up.
I would need to squad with peeps for a while before I decide. Actually become friends with them before I commit.
If you see me, invite. We'll see. |

Funny thing is, I just want full squads. Corps got more of the attention. I'm some times inches away from an orbital. And, no. it's not selfish if I'm top of the score sheet, don't get an orbital, but want one. Obviously I'm doing SOMETHING.
And by the way, if, in you're argument you accuse someone of assuming something, while you assume something yourself, you need to become more self conscious. |
