So basically you want to ensure pub matches are lopsided (One side completely an organized corp and the other side a bunch of random blueberries running around like chickens with their heads cut off) so you can make the pubstomp as brutal as possible? |

I simpler solution whould be to have corp match behave like pub matches except they are prearrenaged battles between two corps (same SP and isk rewards or perhaps an isk reward bonus). |

Matches are one sided either way. You are either on the side owning or the side losing. It's random I have been on both sides. It's all about who has the team that will work together. Blueberrys are not the best at working together just saying |

It's not about stomping the other team. It's about teaching new recruits how to function as a corporation in battle. It's about playing with people that you know will share your desire to overcome defeat. It's about having a team that you can count on. If you can't play a match with a full corporation, why do we have them in the first place? By far this isn't the worst idea ever. |

I don't want prearranged battles. I just want to play with my corporation, that's why I am in one. Either that or make it where the team has one leader and everyone is automatically in the same voice chat. Everyone can hear everyone. It's a team game with no team work from blues |

Not always. I've seen a lot of pretty tight matches here recently and you know when that is? When the corps are all jumbled up and you've got people from good corps and even the same corp on apposing teams. Those are my favorite matches because it's hard to tell who's going to win. Make it so that a corp can fight as one team in a pub match and the only time you'll see a tight match is on the off chance two corps of equal skill face off; everything else will be a massacre. |

Green it is rare that I get good pub matches. I'm not saying that they don't happen, just that its rare. I'm sorry for the ones that disagree with this and don't want to play with there corp in matches. Are you doubting your corp capabilities? |

Dont we have corp battles for that ? And soon enough planetary conquest and FW contract ?
Pub matches in the insta-battle has its own purpose, being an entry gate into Dust. If tomorrow i can just deploy 16 WTF at once, it will be : 1) A slaughter 90% of the time 2) As boring for my team as it will be for the randoms.
I already redline more than half of my games with a squad of 4.... 16 would just be silly. Randoms wouldnt have any chance to actually learn the game, discover its mechanics and such. And being stomped all day when starting a game isnt gonna make you like the game and wish to go further into what it has to offer.
Yet i understand your frustration but it's just misplaced. Rant about not having real corp modes yet but dont complain about the pub games. They are what they are... A place where you can end up against day one players, and sometimes 2 groups from various good corps. It's just the way it is.
It would be way better to just draw corps out of pub matches completely by offering them something better. And with FW being open to randoms next build (hopefully), there will be much more fights there in which you'll have the opportunity to deploy as a whole team.
iceyburnz wrote:I simpler solution whould be to have corp match behave like pub matches except they are prearrenaged battles between two corps (same SP and isk rewards or perhaps an isk reward bonus).
Just one problem with that as i stated many times: exploit. Day one of something like that you would see corps doing bogus fights against an ALT corp to farm ISK or WP or Salvage. Only idea i had to get bonus ISK from corp games would be to have individual ISK reward based ONLY on the value of the equipment lost in battle. Meaning militia would add 0 to the ISK bonus pool and it would thus force someone who'd want to exploit to actually spend ISK before getting any. So, not very interesting.
Planetary conquest and the isk planet will generate will be a way better model. |

My corp is a default so, yes I doubt it's abilities; and yes I know I should join a proper corp but I'm doing fine just sticking with the team mates I'm given for the most part. I don't really mind getting stomped either; I just switch to starter gear and keep chugging along the best I can with what team I have. |

It would be a bad idea to stomp new people into the ground, right now being on the winning or losing teams are luck of the draw and sometimes a squad already severely affects team balance, imagine 4 of them, unless the other side has a couple of good performing guys in it.
At the end of the day, if its a 24/7 Pub stomp each and every day, it will teach new players not to log on anymore, nobody would love a good educational stomp every day of the week.
They should make a new Ambush (No Teams) for the new people, untill they get up to a reasonable KDR ratio and have learned the game. 50% of the new players get destroyed on their first day and will never put up with it anymore.
Sure you can say HAHAHA we don't them here!! L*S*RS!!! But frankly we could use every last one of them for when the planets are getting opened up. I am already seeing too many regulars each match, lucky many of them run without a dedicated team.
Many of the people ive tracked with very bad scores play anymore, so yeah GL with your Deathsquad idea... |

the current system of matching teams is working, and the devs are working to implement a more 'even' matchup in pub matches. You want practice for your corp? A Novel idea... do corp battles... the 1 thing they are good for atm.
when they increase squad size thus will address both sides of the coin to an extent. Until then, pub rooms are typically squad A vs squad B, and sometimes squad C & D are in the same match.
you see an organized squad on the other side, 1 of 2 things happen..
your squad recognizes the challenge and essentially takes them on (tons of fun..try it sometime)
OR
your squad notes the squad on the other team and avoids them like the plague while steamrolling the rest of the team that poses no threat...

Ted actually has a point. Most battles in this game are incredibly one sided. Players get perpetually rolled over and over again. It's actually hard to teach newer players how to play in pubs considering pubs are one sided and it's relatively easy to do well in them. Corporation battles in there current state are just a waste of time considering they are 8v8.
4 man squads just doesn't work and the battlefield series is proof of it seeing as an increased squad size has been the most requested feature for years.
CCP seriously needs to add a mercenary playlist for the people who don't have friends. This really is the only way to ensure that they have an enjoyable experience with this game. Another alternative would be to bring back the old battlefinder from a few months ago, and allow corporations to name the rooms in which they play in so that people can have more competitive pub matches versus just rolling on randoms all day.

I believe what Ted was getting to is giving us Corps the ability to practice matches as a Corp. Not to pubstomp. Practice makes imperfect. Corp vs corp is expensive. Random corp vs corp would be a better way of accomplishing this without imbalancing Random pub matches

Don't think corp stomps rolling through will help. I have seen several much tighter matches lately with full squads running on both sides. Maybe the blues are getting better, maybe the new spawn algorithm helps reboost a team... who knows, I'm still having fun. |

I think the key is rewards for corp matches based on the collateral put up. The winning side gets their collateral back and the other teams colalteral is dished out between the members of the winning team evenly. The winning team also gets some percentage of the losing teams collateral as a corp reward.
Or to fully remove the ability to game the system: Collateral of x is required of both teams. Winner receives x + 0.4x as a corp. 0.5x is distributed between the members of the winning team.
In the above system you cannot farm the matches as isk is destroyed in the process and never generated. Skillpoints would be very hard to implement without making the system easily exploited. You could have a random Corp contract system where you put up a maximum collateral willing to be paid and what you would like to pay and then you are randomly paired with another corp using Z scores from statistics such that your most likely matches are those closest to the price you wanted to pay. In this setup skillpoints could be rewarded as per usual in pub matches. For this the matchmaking should be based on price bands rather than specific prices because then Corp A and Alt Corp B could put up contracts for the same oddly obscure isk value and be matched up again and again as the isk values match perfectly.
Although to be quite honest since there is an SP cap it doesn't really matter if a corp is farming sp against themselves in corp matches because they'll still cap out. As long as you can't farm isk the system will be alright. |

Definitely "No" to the Corp pubstomps. I have been on the wrong side of Ted's Tank **** a few too many times, lol. Why not add a feature that works like instant battle, but for Corps only? Anywhere from 5+ Corp members could be in there, would be good for training and learning who in your Corp you work with best. |
