If this includes direct money transfers between Dusters then this is going to make the game so much better!!!!! |

iceyburnz wrote: Its hard to see through the great "forum wall", Im sure there are lots of productive "lets get communication sorted guys" meetings in Dust HQ. Without communication players make up thier own minds about whats going on. I personally, am starting to think the DUST team arn't taking communication with the player base seriously. Or at least the lessons the eve team has learned about communication hasn't been taken on board by thier collegues. At least thats how it appears.
Good point! Communication is very important for the development of player interest in Dust514. I feel we won't have a CSM8 (Council of Stellar Management) seat this year, but we should develop a community and ideas that are forward moving for good game ideas. Is "Dust HQ" a site we can accomplish this at? What tools do we have now that can be used to develop a Merc Planetary Council, (MPC)? How can we improve those tools? If we show an interest in community and development CCP will listen and contribute to addressing our ideas more completely.
My fist recommendation would be, to fix this forum, the accessibility is limited when compared to Eve Online forum. Secondly, we need a solid list of development priorities, as seen by player wants, CCP wants and capabilities. CCP can you show us a short term, 3 month, plan of the issues you are working on? Something general as 'we are working on core gameplay' just doesn't reach your clients here.
To me, 3 month = soon (tm), very soon (tm) = 1 month, is this a fair term to use?

Its depressing to see that everything we want is coming, but it never comes and when it does its months after. I would love to feel like this game is constantly growing and progressing but 90% of the time its in stasis. |

I applaud your efforts and I know the developers involved know the community at large is frustrated. Just these very long gaps of well nothing new is straining the community as a whole. I also know that developer time is probably better spent on game development not writing blogs, but the lack of both consumer intake of either is starving the short attention-ed fps players a wee bit including all of our newest neophytes that have no idea how this game is evolving.
Those who know what is up with CCP and development in dust is getting very strained out and getting hard pressed for evidence over and over again. I mean its like the vehicle capacitor on the dev blog that never happened is what is probably beginning to cause some animosity in publishing blogs, especially after the overall negative feedback the salvage blog provided. I do ask this this though that if anything would help calm us down by a delaying action any short bit would probably be the long overdue dust 514 csm minutes which is no longer critical to game development as its well out of the current cycle window but we would like to know what the elected officials think, ccp thinks, and hopefully beneficial to you guys in the office is what we think about the minutes.
I understand that the FW and Dropsuit blogs are waiting for art and final feature nails before publishing and are bottle necked because of it. But the Dust 514 CSM minutes are not. I think its time you put away the prod and took out the whip for the guy sitting on them for the last 3 months
As for the Answer to the Original Poster

There are some hurdles to overcome on our end in making this happen but we're actively discussing them.

Lots of talk is fine. Give us some action before the end of the month, or I'll chalk this up to just another placation attempt. |

CCP, do not fool yourselves into believing that THIS represents adequate feedback to your player base.
The fact that this post garnishes more likes than the OP does not represent approval for this response.
It demonstrates, instead, the desperate need from all of us for basic information from you.
Isn't DUSTsupposed to be a huge business step for CCP? And Sony?
Yet, since the September time frame last year we haven't heard much at all from Mr Reid & Co, and very damn little from you, the developers.
Enough with the 'soon'. How about When?
Your company is playing hardball but it doesn't feel to me like you're bringing your A game from a business marketing and information standpoint.
Step it up please. If you want to start the fusion furnace that a rabidly engaged customer base can give you, you've got to change your pace. |
