Let's face it we are all beta testers at the moment right, however is it worth it to be a supportive voice in the forums?
There are so many good thing that I have seen with DUST just as in EVE that I wish CCP would know that it was liked, but does that really do them any good from a dev standpoint? Does knowing what is going right in there development help speed it along? I would think the reason they put the things I love in there games is because they know players or they them self will like it. So short of telling them what we would like to see should we tell them what we like so far?
Does it help them at all to make a better finished game? I could post a CCP love letter every week but it would instantly be drowned in a sea of GÇ£fix thisGÇ¥ and GÇ£this sucks do it betterGÇ¥ threads that I see all the time here. More to the point does all good feed back give them any thing but a warm feeling in the bottom of there hearts?
I'm truly asking because I want to help make Dust unforgettable in the best way possible. So can I do that just by being critical but with out being negative? |

Their hearts.
Eve has been about trolling for a long time. Most players in dust are from eve.
However,
If you construct a good enough post with a good argument, just stick too it, expect to be troll'd.
You will have people agree with you, you'll have some disagree with you.
Hell I don't care if people agree with me on anything I just would like to know what gives the developers the best info. |

If we feel positively about a game, chances are the majority of us are going to shut up about it and play it. At least that's what I usually do. This is the way things work in life. People are WAY more likely to voice a negative opinion about something, but when they are satisfied with it, they won't think to give positive statements, they'll just use/play/accept it.
That's very true and is just human nature I guess and the fact that the loudest voice often wins make me worry that this game will be guided by a bunch of complaints. |

Every day we are looking for both positive and negative feedback - and that is what keeps the game going forward. We read forums constantly - and we know how to recognize and process well written feedback from all of you. :)
I don't yet credit myself in the category of people who can produce GÇ£well written feedbackGÇ¥ but IGÇÖm trying to rise above the rank and file who stay silent whether they be satisfied or just complacent. I will however be giving feedback as often as I can. I'm just trying to get a feel for what will be the most beneficial to CCP developers and be as well rounded as possible.
By chance can you tell me what you look for most in the feed back you get? |

Is this truly the question? I would think we would all want DUST514 to grow as much as possible, and being overly negative would drive people who had courage enough to post - so they'll probably have the courage enough to say the game blows to others. Word of mouth is pretty bad on us already from what I hear. There's not a lot we can really do other then play the game - alot of us use these forums a lot. I think it should be a responsibility to help guide these idiotic folks, as well as troll them gently. We do it too each other - just don't be so damn negative. my two isk.
The only investment I have with this game so far is IGÇÖve played EVE and liked it and IGÇÖm waiting to see where CCP takes dust until launch. I'm never going to hold back if I don't like something about it but I think I can do a bit better then GÇ£I get killed to often change you gameGÇ¥ I've read to many good ideas in this forum that I hope make it into the GÇ£finishedGÇ¥ game not to try and add to them. |
