It's still down. I'm starting to become annoyed... They're already 20 minutes late, plus the extra half hour they added on.. so 1h 20m so far! I hope this is gonna be worth it... |

Dear players,
Today DUST 514 will go offline for an extended period of time starting from 10:30 GMT. Server is expected to come back up at 11:50 GMT. Today we will perform multiple back-end fixes.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Additionally, we are applying the following change during today's downtime:
Removed the default assignment of players in to squads when joining a battle. Squads must now be manually created by players before or during a battle.
So, Stability fixes and the Squad Thing. There is also a major deployment EVE side for the Retribution 1.1 Update, so they are probably taking advantage of that Downtime to do these fixes, I mean why not right? lol

EDIT: They are not 20 minutes late, it is scheduled to come up right now as I post this. Keep an eye on the Announcement Forum for more info, should that change. |

I just went fishing for answers on your question and I saw "back-to-back fixes (which isn't very descriptive but I also found another thing the Devs are fixing quote (GÇó Removed the default assignment of players in to squads when joining a battle. Not sure how much I like the removal of auto-squads. I guess it will allow me to become squad leader more often when I'm running with randoms, since they will show up as "not in squad" and I can invite them. |

On the downside, all the ignorant blueberries (so a good portion of the team) will remain squadless most of the time.
I like that we can change squads during a battle, though, unless I misread that. |

If Squad can be made and changed during battle, does this means we can enter a "running battle" and join a friend already playing? That would be great! |

Squads good and bad. On the fly is great. Newberries will not look or know better and when I default to SL I can't "be smart" and actually use the SL commands on those not figuring it out. And if you solo, at least in PUBs you may get someone who chats with a mic, now we are all solo? team chat then should default. |
