So I got into a wonderful firefight the other day. It involved myself, an enemy tank and the enemy team. Tank + enemy team was fast approaching and I was getting ready to spam "HELP", but something wonderful happened. I rushed the tank putting it between myself and the advancing enemy force. As the crew inside struggled to attack me I dropped about 3 of their ranks and kept using the tank for cover. Eventually this must have annoyed the crew enough to get out and shoot me because out pop 2 guys. I had saved a hand grenade for a moment just like this. I down one guy, but the next guy kills me, but I managed to drop the grenade in time to score a kill on him as well.
So lesson for you you tank pilots out there. Don't get out of the vehicle. Just don't.
Some guy in a starter suit will kill you.

Any HAV pilot who has a clue will know to never get out under any circumstances. There is not a single appropriate time for a pilot to leave his vehicle, so if one does, they're an idiot and deserved to die. |

Take it from lurch and don't get out of the tank. If your alone and an enemy infantry is on your tank/running beside you just ignore him. Wtf can he do? |

I jump out all the time. Then again my HMG is a much better weapon than the crappy blaster turrets on most tanks.
Edit: Out of the gunner seat that is. Not pilot. |

When point blank against an assault forge gun, its time to get out and shotgun the guy in the face |

Once while playing sniper (which I rarely do) to help spot and take out anti-armor troopers for my dropship buddy, a enemy standing completely still entered my cross hairs. Wasn't really sure why he wasn't moving out in the open, but figured it's a free kill so might as well take it. Three seconds later I realized why he was standing still as the RDV came in with his brand new tank. Oh it was too good to be true, quick hack and it was all mine (and I remembered to blow it up before the match ended). That guy must of been really PO'd.
So lesson for you you tank pilots out there. Don't get stand still while waiting for your tank. Just don't. |

Aren't gunners supposed to get out and help in these situations? I assume we are being told in OP's cool story the driver also got out of his ride. If so, lol. |

I get out of my tank from time to time, I personally don't see it as a stupid thing to do because I can kill ppl just as fast with my AR, when i do get out its when a game is really close and my gunners aren't brave enough to run and cap a point, sometimes a gunner will nick the tank or some blue berry, but who cares its just isk.
I wish they'd allow ppl inside vehicles to call in orbital strikes, getting out to do that is annoying. |

That seems to be anti infantry tactics more than tank.
If you got that close and survived, if you bothered to get AV nades you could have blown it up (with nano hive you get as many as you need).
The tank or tankers must have sucked in it. blasters murder people up close and mid ranges. Also a tank can move faster than infantry to get them out of deadzone. |

Gunners are supposed to, gun people dead, the tank can reposition so they can do job better.
The same person who can't shoot for **** in a tank likely can't do it on the ground, the noob paradox.
