Why is it some people have a lit top left corner on their forum avatars and some don't? |

A cursory glance through various threads make it appear as if all of them have the lit corner except for certain male assault suit avatars?
The avatar images without the lit corner are located in a different folder on the server too. |

Probably has to do with when they joined beta, would be my guess. |

^^ could be. I also noticed the unlit ones are pulled back slightly, you can see a little more of their suit.
Edit: just checked my alts, neither of them are backlit and both were created after open beta... |

Mine doesn't seem to have it, yet I have been in the beta since the beginning of September.
The weird thing though, is that in-game my avatar is a scout (I picked it before I even knew what the avatars represented, lol, and I am assault 100%). But here on the forums it shows me as an assault avatar (at least to me it does).
While we are talking about avatars, what does it mean when somebody has a box on the upper right that has an equals sign in it? I think it means they are in our contact list, but not sure. |

There was a forum response on this question right after they enabled the individualized avatars a few months back. The dev response was that it wasn't really intentional but there appeared to be two versions of the same image, one with the light and one without. I took from that response that the difference doesn't mean anything, it just came down to whatever file was referenced in your profile after the avatars were turned on.

A bit off topic, but how does one go about changing your forum avatar? The Caldari Assault is not what I chose in-game and is not what shows up in the in-game channels. A bit confused. |

The unlit Caldari avatar is the default and what we all had when the forums were first deployed. If that is what is showing then your avatar is bugged or you're posting from a very new character. We're running on a partial copy of the EVE forums and things are only partly working. |

Try logging out and logging back in on whatever device you post from.
Once you log back in it should change to the lite one and put the pic you chose. |

I'm an E3 character and no didn't help and other two characters are also 'Caldari Assault' and that's not their avatars...
