I've seen a lot of people calling for different needs to the hmg let's examine them shall we
1. Add spin up time....while this would successfully nerf the hmg it would make it useless for cqc which is one of the few situations it shines....while we r at it let's make you pop the clip and **** your ar before you can shoot....see doesn't make much sense
2. Decrease the range....this one I agree with SLIGHTLY...... people that get picked off have no idea how many rounds the hmg has to fire before it is accurate enough to pick people off not to mention it may not work at all because of bad accuracy at range.....in other words if you got picked off my a hmg u probably deserved it.... if the range is decreased then damage needs to be upped to make it fit a cqc role better......guys running an ar shouldn't be able to sit out of range and pick hmgerd off that's what a sniper rifle is for..
3. Decrease the damage.....this one is a hock of crap.....my hmg only does 16 damage a shot your ar does 30 something damage and the ar is a heck of a lot more accurate
Mass drivers have also gotten a lot of negative attention here recently let's look at the needs proposed
1. Decrease fire rate.....I can see how this COULD help but it would make it a lot more difficult to use in situations when you are under fire.....
2. Get rid of the smoke cloud....this one could be easily solved.....when the grenade explodes on a natural surface like the dirt or a rock face it should throw up a dust cloud.....not when it hits steel.....or add an ammunition variant that releases smoke but does less damage and one that has no smoke but more damage
3. Decrease ammo....B.S..... the MD has very low ammo as is
4. Make it less accurate..... I actually agree here....add a small randomness to where the grenade will land.....and I do mean SMALL
Thoughts?...please keep it mature so a solution can be found |

HMGs should have spin up. I was surprised they didn't, seeing that in most games the weapon has it. Many say this will make them useless....but I really haven't got any chances to win face to face with a heavy, even if I begin to shoot first and he's full HP. Maybe an increase in damage to compensate the spin up time. |

Win face to face with a heavy......see this is y u lose.....go around and flank them....or don't run in the open at them that is the single biggest mistake I see people make....they just think they're Rambo and can drop a 800hp heavy in 5 or 6 shots....its not going to happen
Spin up time would destroy the hmg ability to fight in cqc which is where it is supposed to do well

HMGs need a slight range nerf thats all, MDs need an ammo buff thats all. Right now MDs have less mags than any other gun.
I didn't spec into MDs just so some newb could QQ and get it nerfed. |

Yeah I'm still learning to ignore heavies lol. IMO the HMG is a support weapon, for suppressing fire. Shotguns and SMGs should win at cqc. I feel the HMG should be good at mid range....idk. |

Forgot one for the hmg...
Add overheat.....I agree here almost completely....... but make it so that if you flutter the trigger correctly you CAN fire an entire magazine without overheating |

most games have spin-up time on the HMG because they r soposed to be in current day (time-frame). DUST 514 is a futuristic game - if we have space-ships i think we can figure out how to make a HMG that doesn't have spin-up. also, these weapons don't fire the same kind of ammo that we have today, so ur argument is invalid. |

Tweak it so that it wins vs an AR at mid range and loses to an SMG at close range. We obviously don't want ARs to dominate the game, gets boring fast. |

I didn't spec into MDs just so some newb could QQ and get it nerfed. not too worried atm since these noobs, non factors, and scrubs have their nerf sights set on HMG right now

Working as intended. You're not supposed to win a face-to-face 1v1 fight against a Heavy with an HMG. Sneak up on him, use Flux grenades to take out his shields, or wait for backup. Don't fight something in a way that's obviously not supposed to work and then complain about it when you die. |

I actually don't think that the problem lies with the gun. It is the armor that is ridiculous and needs to be fixed. For example, level 1 heavy drop-suit is 650 armor, level 1!! The saga is a light vehicle in the game and it only has 600. This is just not right. Around three times the armor of other classes/drop-suits. Juggernauts are cool/ok in single player games/mode, but they have no place, I repeat, NO PLACE IN ONLINE GAMES. It is amazing that they put this on the game considering how hated this sort of thing is in Call of Duty. Fix the armor and the heavy drop-suit class is fine. Yes the weapon would still be powerful, but nothing a little cover can fix. If you nerf the gun, people will just use another weapon and they will still be able juggernaut through your bullets and kill you. THE WEAPON IS NOT THE PROBLEM! |
