This game is the first FPS game where I actually see people working with eaach other rather than everyone being lone wolves who happen to be running like a head less chicken in the same direction as each other.
I mean yeah people go off on their own ect some do well some die, I go between lone wolfing and being a team player sometimes the situation requires a differn't stratergy. But even without Mics ect people still manage some sort of team work and c-ordination, really Bravo Dust Mercs and Bravo CCP for making a FPS that truely has achieved getting players to work as a team |

there have been other game's just this game is really good at implementing it early on check ghost recon online that had a really unique friendly system
and this other game that actually gave you bonuses for standing near your team mates and you could chose bonuses that you gave to them "and it was a cover shooter so they helped you not get flanked" |

In my opinion it has to do with the high cost fittings. I notice a huge difference in my own gameplay when using one of my personal fits versus a starter fit. With the starter fits I tend to get impatient waiting on others and run off and do my own thing as with every other shooter, but when I'm using my personal and pricey fits I don't want to ever get caught out numbered so every time I notice there is no one near me I immediately stop what I'm doing and look for at least one team mate. |

I lone wolf mainly because squad pub stomping is just too easy.
The only few things I do to help my team is their drop a drop uplink in some random area that's near an objective. Or revive those who aren't in danger zones where we would both end up dead. Other then that, don't expect any more "help" from me, because i know I wont get any from you. |

Who started it then? This is a thread about how nice teamwork is then there's u lol Neraly every blue dot has no concept of what teamwork is. the "teamwork" you see is probably them trying to help them selkves, and other blue dots just using what they have dropped to help them selves.
I've dropped nano hives to replenish my ammo, only to have it wasted by some jerk who used it to lug 12 grenades at one person, and miss every time. Really? I wish friendly fire was on.
I've revived people, only to see them run off, and die 2 feet away from where I picked them up. But that's fine, because i'll just pick you up again, and 60 more points.
I've tried to team shoot an enemy to save someone else, only to have the person I'm helping stand in-front of me while i'm shooting the enemy, and die.
ect ect ect. |

A: I don't get points for supplying my teammates with ammo if it's used as a place to motor nades at enemies.
B: I did make sure the area was safe, HE ran into a dangerous area when he had only 15% of his health after being revived. I did my job, he made my job redundant. I did my job again to milk him for points.
C: I have never seen a team of blue dots excel at anything if they're in a NPC corp.
unlike most players who actually needs to hear your advice, I know how to play this game. |

I agree with the OP's point and want to suggest that CCP have done an excellent initial job of creating an environment where, after a player gets a bit used to the game, s/he can see that working as a group is more satisfying than going solo in a lot of situations.
Even though the initial learning curve is steep there are enough experienced players in the game that, when they play pickup games, they pass on good practice by example. That helps ease the new players into the game. We've seen reference to it in this thread. Whatever his motivations, when Zekain Kade drops an uplink or revives a player he shows the players with him how much that helps.
Lots of things we gripe about contribute to that. Scouts are fast but paper thin. With a shotgun they can take down a heavy but not if he has an assault with reasonable gun game or a logi with a mass driver or if three heavys are running together with a logi keeping them alive. While there are problems with the details, at that higher level the core balance is solid.
Vehicles need to be reintegrated with the same solidity. New weapons / suits need to be integrated without upsetting it.
If I was to put a big sign on the wall at CCP Shanghai I would have it read "Make no change that favours the individual over the squad or team." In my opinion CCP have made a good start at that. |
