Yes for all light & sidearms.
I say do whatever the real world practice is in combat. For sure it's common to reload on the run for pistols and other small magazine weapons with slight time penalty since it's a simple mag swap. Of course real world is also not forced to auto-reload or second guess if they got the mag in... ;)
Heavy weapons surely would never be done on the run because of the more complicated steps involved, this would include swarm launchers.

I too also vote no. one reason is because there are skills books for reloading and the HVY's and what not.
WELL.... if they want to increase the reload time while reloading then, ok I'm down for it, make it take twice as long. Still gives us time to wipe that bastard hvy out and shotgunner |

No.
Sprinting is running as fast as you're able. If you're reloading while you run, you're not running as fast as you're able. Ergo, you can't reload while sprinting. QED |

I'd have to vote no, not for Dust, which is a little slower-paced than your ultra fast linear levelled Modern Warfare stuff. Needing to reload should probably come with a movement penalty so choosing WHEN to reload remains a tactical choice (do it now, or try to find cover first?) instead of a thoughtless button mash regardless of your situation.
That said, they really have to do something about the reload cancelling because nearly every 'trying Dust for the first time' video on Youtube has the person constantly cancelling their own reload due to instinctive sprinting the moment it looks like the animation is complete. It's a dumb feature that feels broken. |

No Your arms are needed to run at full speed. Try running full speed without your arms pumping. But i agree with fixing the animation so you can run once the reload is complete in the animation as aposed to when the animation finishes. Its weird seeing your character finish putting the clip in but it gets nullified because you didnt wait for your arms to fall back to the noemal spot. |

If they could make the game remember when the empty magazine has been dropped, when the new one has been loaded in, and when the catch release has been operated, then after any one of those points you could stop reloading to sprint again without having to do the whole animation all over again. You would pick up after the last step you completed. Rainbow Six 3 had this, I would guess it could be done in Dust. |

QFT.
We had this same nonsense with the throwing grenades at full sprint - you can do nothing else whilst running as fast as you possibly can. It makes absolutely no sense even in the future.
Also, if you make it like this, what is the point of having a running speed and a sprinting speed? You might as well just make it one speed and get rid of the other entirely. Dumb.

This pointless vote thread currently lies at 14 yes, 19 no.
If the vote continues to support No, will all you fools stop banging on about being able to multitask whilst running as fast as you possibly can?
Please someone try reloading a gun whilst doing a 14 second 100m sprint - not happening. |

NO and keeping it like it is, YES to allow players to run and reload at the same time...
Thanks
I VOTE YES, FIX RELOAD AND RUN AT THE SAME TIME!

0.02 ISK Cross Cross, that post was 6 months ago. It didn't happen and it still doesn't make sense. I'm not commenting on how good the idea is or isn't, simply pointing out the data already on the forums.
To the best of my understanding all items within that dev thread are to be considered marked SOONtm unless/until specifically stated otherwise.
As such I fail to grasp the purpose of this thread, it seems to clutter the feedback forum to open threads asking CCP for something they stated was planned for sometime in the future (it's like threads asking for the battle suits or saying "CCP you MUST enable the secondary market NOW" et al)
CCP Frame wrote: Hello,
Please use search forum function first for any similar feedback/suggestions. If there is no thread already, please post 1 feedback/suggestion = 1 thread, so we can easily keep track of those. Making a list of feedback and suggestions may prove to be counter-productive as some important things may be overlooked.
Thank you!
It is my perception that this thread (when combined with the Dev response already on the subject) fits the spirit, if not all the literal particulars, of the above definition of counter productive.
Hopefully with the information provided it will be allowed to rest rather than continuing to clutter up the feedback forums.
