I have never been more frustrated playing this game than, when I had to use it after I ran out of HMK4s (I realize they are Aur weapons but, COME ON.) I could usually best a heavy. With Breach? I had to stalk and surprise or kill steal to get a postive KDR The rest in that category are good, But its so bad I was told to just use my Militia one until I could afford tier 3.
Thats just my opinion though. Perhaps other people love the **** outa the breach. The Breach is probably THE most annoying Shotgun I've ever used, the slow RoF coupled with terrible hitmarkers makes it the worst Shotgun in the game. I recently got the CRG-3, so its all good. Good God, the CRG-3 is ridiculous, I'm not gunna start making an OP thread, but seriously that thing is a nightmare to face.
If a good, stealthy scout gets behind your lines with it, Dust suddenly turns into Climax of the Blair Witch Project: The Game. |

The Swarm Launchers are pretty pointless right now because they're meant for AA, but A's to shoot at are few and far between. swarms aren't hugely effective at AA. Most the time we can dodge them, but forge guns...*shudder* when they're in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing, cue the moment 2 seconds before impact when you see a FG round come flying at you.
Generally I have to catch dropships off guard with the most damaging Swarms I have available in order to swat them out of the sky. I still end up getting them more often than not, but it takes ~3 volleys for every 1 that actually hits when they're trying to evade me.
For sheer damage and reliability: Forge > Swarm, but the forge gunner is stuck in a slow suit with no ammo replenishment. Swarm guys can set up sniping positions and engage in guerrilla tactics. (With the sad but necessary removal of dumbfire, sneaking up behind a tank with a scout and hammering him up the rear end is no longer viable.)
If you put a Swarm and a Forge guy together, that's when the real fireworks begin. |
