There are two things on my mind when it comes to Ambush mode. We all know that the spawn killing is broken, and we've been assured it's being worked on, so I'm not even counting that HOWEVER, there are a couple frustrations that prevail;
CRUs Get rid of them. There's no reason for them to even exist in Ambush modes. There exactly any particular points of interest to capture, and they only serve to be meat grinders. They're stat boosters for those who know how to camp them, and frustrations for those who don't know they can spawn elsewhere. At the VERY least, OMS variant only, and late into the contest.
Vehicles/Strikes in Standard Ambush Why they are there is a bit beyond me. One would imagine that no OMS means no OMS, yet we're still getting precision strikes and vehicles. It's one thing when there are turrets and supply depots to help out, but you don't have any of that for traditional ambush. I simply find it out of place, given that we have a specific variant for Off Map Support. |

CRUs provide excellent defensive positions, provided your team is competent.
Vehicles are an integral part of DUST and should be in every play mode. If you don't like vehicles, get an AV fit and get good.
As CCP likes to say, HTFU. |

CRUs provide defensive positions where there are positions to defend (ie: Skirmish mode). In Ambush, they only serve as places to mow people down as they spawn.
Vehicles are fine and dandy, but in PLAIN AMBUSH there are no ways to *counter* without dying and coming back as AV (which you are then stuck as, until dying again). This isn't a matter of player competence; this is poor design.
In OMS you have supply depots and turrets to aid. Yes, people can destroy said depots, but the mode doesn't default to asking for the player to die in order to be useful.
This isn't a complaint about vehicles, this is feedback about the game mode variant in particular. |
