EVE turned me off because of the 'Time invested' aspect overriding the 'skill' aspect. And it seems that you tried to apply that same concept to the FPS portion. Good job on catering to a select handful of nerds with nothing better to do than to brag about curb stomping newbies stuck using Militia gear against his awesome proto armors setup.. Better luck next time. If you had actually made it fun... and accessable, you might have actually accomplished something great. You might have actually boosted your numbers on EVE. But this travesty will be sure to turn off most newcomers to your franchise. Especially if they attempt to go with a sniper first. Here's what my first 2 games consisted of right before I quit and uninstalled it. I'm fighting against the sway of my weapon. Then I get sniped out by a Heavy Machine Gun, from what appears to me to be sniping distances? What the point of the sniper then? Then, the spawn killing commences. OH JOY! Seriously. GET OUT OF THE FPS BUSINESS! You have no clue WTF you are doing! FPS should never be about time invested over skill. PERIOD Your game, has some of the worst movement, control, spawn killing, game mechanics I have ever seen.

I mean, most of the replies here just solidify my point that.... building this FPS around the same concept of the MMO. was just wrong. This was their chance to give their entire universe the recognition it needed beyond just the people who have no life. They should take a good look at how CoD handles itself. How it moves, how it feels, etc. AND COPY THAT! But still intergrate it with the larger MMO world. Not make some peice of garbage that only the most die hards EVE fan boys would ever invest the time into. I was hopeful that this would be my motivation back into the EVE universe. Sadly, it was only another nail in the coffin to make me completely forget that EVE ever existed.

CCP needs to get the hell out of the FPS business until they figure that portion out. Go ahead and keep defending your garbage game. Just keep in mind that its not going to make it very far, except to those players who are already invested into the other part of the EVE universe. And trust me, I ******* hate CoD for how simple it is. I wanted another FPS franchise to invest into. This is not going to be it. I may just have to break down and install Origin just to get my fix with BF3..... and I hate you for that.

Look at how COD FEELS! in your hands. It FEELS GOOD! to play it. Yes it is simple. BUT IT RUNS ***** GREAT! That is the part they need to copy. That is why it is so succesful Halo can also attribute it's success to how it felt when you were playing it. It has nothing to do with the underlying mechanics of how you unlock **. It has everything to do with Aim Sensitivites, Movement speeds, Accelerations, etc. This game is currently garbage in most every one of those aspects.

And yes, 2 games is all it took for me to figure out how stupid this game is. And no, I was not attempting CQC with a sniper. These were sniping distances that I was being sniped out from with anything other than a sniper. By the time I would crouch waiting for the thing to stop swaying, I'd either be dead, or moving in an attempt to avoid being shot dead by the weapons in question. Just for the record, I go into EVERY FPS game as a sniper first. I judge a game on how it handles the sniper class. And this game failed. I started my Halo Career as a Sniper (Whenever I could get to it first). It was pleasing and fun to play from the first moment that you picked the weapon up and used it. I started my BF:BC2 Career as a sniper first. It was pleasing and fun to play with and learn the bullet drop, distances, etc. I started my Dust 514 Career as a sniper first. And it took 2 games for me to uninstall the game.

You're assuming I don't know how to play tactically as a sniper in a game like this. You're all assuming I'm attempting to play it like it's a mindless 'run around like a rambo chicken with your head cut off' CoD clone. You have no idea what I was doing during these matches to even defend it on those points. Just admit that you love a peice of garbage, and move on.
