MAG had a lot of problems, but there were some very solid ideas out of that game. One of them was how they created an incentive in the medic class.
In Mag there was the rezzer, which is comparable to the nanite injector. It came in three flavors....have rez, 3/4's rez, and full rez. You had to spec more points to get from 1/2 to full.
The pay off was increased points. Half rez got you 5, 3/4 got you 7, and full gave you ten. Considering a kill was five points, it was a big incentive to rezz at full steam. I would have done it just because I was always in clans and we always wanted to be able to bring each other up at full strength. It was a little OP....your teammate dies, you run in and rez him, switch back to your gun and suddenly there's two guys ready to rock and roll...there was no "get up" or delay time for downed players in MAG.
I'd like to see something like this instituted. The question is how? Right now I get 65 points for using a militia nano with no skills into injectors.....I think that's a bit much. I think the 65 should be reserved for those that bring up their injector skills to the 80% HP mark. And tier it....so.... Basic/milita 35 Middle 45 80% 65

i don't want it to give less points, not enough people run with nanoinjectors as it is. almost every class should use one imo. |

That's fine, if you want to keep baseline at 65 points, but that means the point total increase up to 85-95 for the 80% rez. I'm just saying that there's no pay off in the current system. |

I agree. The more advanced repair tools and nanite injectors should give more points to incentivize people into moving up to the better ones. |

Yep. There is no pay off for putting SP into the upper tier meds, nor losing the extra CPU or PG to carry the higher tier ones. my militia bpo does me fine. If i bother to use it....
WP have to be rethought.
I think 35 is to high for the basic personally.
bring back chain rezzes..... |

I didn't even think about the PG/CPU reqs too...that makes this even more important.
For all other skill level increases there's a personal pay off. That's why we do it. There should be personal incentives here as well. |

i agree with the sentiment but i am highly reluctant to lower the baseline rewards, especially where the revive is both more cumbersome, and more important than in mag. |

while the idea sounds nice I think it might throw off the balance of the game.. there are already a difference in the top corps armor, weapons etc loadouts and some corps that are a little behind or just starting with their loadouts. If you give a full revive to a elite corp instead of the heath how it is and having someone repair tool you could make the games one sided..
reviving top corps after you kill them to full health wouldn't be a good look. bad enough hardly anyone revives now.. |

Pretty incoherent post.
He isn't asking for full health revives. Right now the amount of health nanite injectors give revived players is based on tier, the highest tier (prototype) gives 80% health back. The higher the tier of your injector (thus the more health you bring back), the more points you should get. If you do a better revive, you should be rewarded more. Right now the game punishes you for using higher tier injectors since not using crappy low tier injectors means there is more health left to heal with a repair tool; this means revive + repairing with low tier medic stuff rewards more than revive + repair with higher tier medic tools. |
