One thing that bugged me about the recent Battlefield games is that the vehicles have infinite ammo. This gives vehicles like the HAV and Dropship too much power in my opinion. It allows gunners to fire freely without worrying about wasting ammo. It can also cause an area to be locked down indefinitely, which can lead to an impenetrable wall of fire at the redline.
I would like to suggest ammo be limited for vehicles. Add a vehicle supply depot installation for vehicles to drive/fly to for resupplying munitions. |

This is an interesting point, but hard to manage ingame: Just look at Ambush - you have no structure (as Guns or suplyy-centers) there, so this would be a immense nerv.
I really like it in the earlier BF games (don't know the actual), when you had to land your plane to get new ammo and repair --> so skill was needed.
It would be the same in Dust (as it actually is) and that is why I already can hear people whining about it. The BlueBerries will complain about the (true) fact, that skilling into Dropships will get harder and less interesting. The others will scream even louder for a seatlock and eject-Button, because of the "Berries" wasting their ammo...
At the end, it must be balanced in a way... e.g. special Nanohives, or something. |

I back this 100%. No reason tanks can lay on the blasters constantly. If not limit the ammo I would prefer to see an actual reload /clip size for HAV's rather than a cool meter. To make dropships more useful, why not allow them to drop vehicle nanohives, so you'd need a skilled tanker with dropship support for ammo. |

i like this idea: or more like the repairing tool and you can earn WP as a reward...

I wouldn't want a "mag/clip" for vehicles. The "mag/clip" thing was actually another annoyance of mine in the recent BF games. I actually prefer the overheating feature.
As for giving Dropships a special nanohive, that's a pretty good idea. Although, it would probably work better as a special type of nanohive for infantry. But, overall, I still would prefer a special type of installation to force them to pull out from an area temporarily, rather than allowing the pilot/driver to hop out, drop a nanohive, and continue the assault at the redline.
I could see a similar issue with giving the Dropship the nanohive for vehicles, since it would make it easier for clans/corps to stomp on randoms, whereas the installation wouldn't necessarily add another advantage to clans/corps over randoms. But at the same time, allowing the Dropship to make cargo drops would be cool.

Huh? I've played in Ambush matches with installations. The only one without any is probably the Spikes map. Ambush OMS especially has installations, but they just happen to drop in after a certain amount of time.
I understand your point about seatlock/eject because of randoms hopping in and expending precious ammo. |

I think the overheat feature in vehicles are fine too. Maybe increasing the overheat rate would help. |

I don't think its necessary, but it would add another layer of tactical possibilities to vehicle gameplay which would make Dust stand out even further. Unstoppable prototype tank unleashed? Could try to fight it, or could try to cut off its ammo supply and starve it. |

After playing DUST a bit more, it seems I was wrong in my last post about regular Ambush having installations. I guess they changed it after adding OMS? Or I just have militia memory and need to upgrade it... >_>

+1 agreed. In addition to adding to the tactical possibilities, it will help balance things out, and will ensure more careful usage of munitions.
I find that this is especially important after playing a Skirmish match on Manus Peak where the opfor managed to get one of the HAVs to spawn way up in the hills around C6. They were able to snipe my team with the main cannon no matter which objective we were at. |
