Here is my feedback on Dust 514 so far; the terrain on all of the maps needs to be smoothed out a bit more, there are still too many areas where its a pain in the ass to maneuver your player or vehicles up some of those hills you guys have. also if you guys could generally smooth out the models the player connects with, what i mean by that is most objects have a blocky feel to them and the player gets hung up on the environment and inhibits his/her freedom of movement. other that that you guys are so far doing a kick-ass job . |

I'm not sure I need the terrain smoothed out so much as I need better visual cues as to what is "too steep" and what isn't. The dividing line is pretty arbitrary right now.
For instance, in the real world, I can look at landforms and often see differences in appearance based on slope. Here is a canyon in Iceland:

It would also be nice to have to quicksand/quagmire/bottomless-pit problem fixed. |

Not sure that I want flatter terrain.
What I want is cleaner traversal of terrain and around containers etc.
It's not consistent with what you see. ie hitboxes of the collision mesh sucks.
Died 2x at least this evening to sticking as I moved across really basic terrain.
Not fun. Bad map design problems even with all the hand smoothing that's occurred.
We've been playing the same basic maps for 9 months and still this occurs...WTF. |

A small cliff to climb adds a bit of suspense as you climb up and then slam down. Tanks are pretty robust in being able to climb things.
Also, a map with no cover makes tanking a suicide mission with all of the ranged AV,
Mountainous areas should stay mountainous, but not every area should be mountainous. Think of magic the gathering, only 1/5 pieces of land are mountains, kind of like real life. |

Im not saying completely flatten out all the hills and cliffs, im saying to make it easier to climb them and move around some blocky objects as well |

Wait...what?
Its really not like this. Also land in MtG is arbitrary, islands in no way constitute 1/5 of the land mass in real life.
Anyway OP has it right, land definately needs smoothed up or better QA. Im sick of getting stuck flying in certain maps then falling to my death after a 1 meter fall.

Huh? What a silly comparison.
Most of my decks were all one or two colors, not 1/5 each, and "real life" is not 1/5 of each type either.
OH, and back on the topic - I agree 100% with the OP's sentiment. Moving around on the terrain is clunky at best and irritating a lot of the time. |

I also notice that things like railing, boxes, and other such objects snags your character when you try to move, and you end up getting stuck on them. |

Players aren't able to climb slopes that they should, and even being close to certain objects like boxes snags you when you try to sprint. |
