Ok so I have made it to a type 2 heavy suit with either enhanced armor rep or enhanced armor. My dropsuits cost a fortune. I have to make sure I only die 4 times in order to break even. Guess what it looks like it gets worse..... top tier suits alone cost more than I can ever make in a match and they don't even look that awesome..... one more low powered slot that is nuts!!!! I think should stick to trying to level up modules or weapon skills |

I was just wondering what the rewards were for a top tier suit with top modules and top HMG because on paper the only difference is basically more isk..... and what if I had a top LAV in the battle. One explosion and I would be out 300k isk and I think that is low????? |

Type -II suit too 54,000 a piece sitting on 72. Mil maybe your doing it wrong Sota.
But seriously even the new guys are figuring out the high end heavy suits need a huge buff! An extra low and high slot for proto and an extra low spot for advanced! I mean we can't hardleynuse any armor cause it slows us down and reps slow. |

Here's an example. I was in a skirmish earlier today and my squad placed on the top five but we got our butts handed to us....should I #1 when I lose X many suits and break even just switch to the free ones or #2 go in the hole...I have to say that in the beginning isk wasn't a big deal but the suits were terrible. What if my side wins the skirmish then we get back a percentage of isk spent? |

Before the wipe that's how much my Type II Assault fitting cost. That's really cheap for a heavy.
Also I don't understand what OP is saying much. Does OP want more money for bringing more expensive things to the table? All I can say in that case is SOON. |

Yeah that's what I was thinking but then you won't get accustomed to your nice suits and I don't believe I am putting forth 120% to help my team win..... isn't that what this game is about or is it just help until you break even? |

That's true to some effect, but the best advice I can give is win your fights. And to do this better gear helps.
I was a victim of this thinking in builds past, and its a self full filling prophecy. " I will just take off this expensive mod here or that gun there" thinking I am saving money but the truth is you are just nickeling and diming your way to more deaths.
It was a hard mindset to get over. But the truth is you olay better in better gear. One because you don't want to loose it, two because it helps you last a few bullets longer or hit that much harder. At the end of the day you died less and killed more which means profit.
So my advice to all is to use the best gear you can whenever you can! Some of the best players in this game are using very expensive gear and are dust rich. |

I have one more question. Would it be worth it to invest in my shields because for a heavy it looks like a lot of sp to invest in order to get shield enhancers |

Definetly work on getting the +5 % to level four increasing your type 2 heavy is worth it! Also field mechanics to 5. |

Your best bet is join a corp and get into squads if ISK is hurting. |

Even just to level III would make a huge difference. |

What skills are you talking about exactly because when I go to market and look at shield modules I have a ton of prerequisites to fill |

Ok so I got it figured all out. Play ambush missions with a heavy ar suit lol. Each suit costs 1400 isk. I played three matches today and made about 500k isk. I also had fun because I wasn't stressing about dying as much. I went to work happy and was glad I had an enjoyable time playing a game. Isn't that what this is all about...... enjoying ourselves. I will save my special suits for the important matches where I might lose money. I wish CCP would incorporate a patch where we would get a percentage back of what we spend or maybe just buff the higher suits. Its terrible two militia ar can take me out. I think it should take at least three with the basic stuff to take down a heavy |

Being fairly new, I'm learning not too hungry with expensive dropsuits. In the future I wasn't ISK to blow on vehicles and to generally have fun with so I've switched to a militia loudout (with the exception of a basic just for the extra 20 clip size).
I think it's known right now that both weapons and suits were too far nerfed |

It helps to focus on staying alive instead of trying to kill anything that moves, especially when it is looking right at you.
On the other hand, heavies aren't well suited to stay alive in whenever a group of lemmings want's it dead, without support at some point after the lemmings charge, it will run out of health at some point and being an immobile sluggish feet tracked mini Vehicle/Tank aint gonna help because its gonna be hard to run in.
There are still other options available if you want to dictate encounters at range or close.
Personally i can go 51/0 in an Assault suit solo, but i cannot pull that score off using a heavy suit with or without HMG, a Heavy is actually a support platform and needs a group to shine. |

I totally agree the problem is the new ness of the game and no one uses mics so in random matches I will just stack isk
I just think its terrible that two guys with militia ars can tear into a 37k suit its terrible |

some secret playing info from the Neon Genesis Guardian Core
you got to know when to use your suits, . . . i use an 19k Type 1 Logi Frontline fit as my standard suit, buy em 100 at a time for 2m, i also have a
9k militia Lazer Heavy 10k militia AV Heavy 18k Type 1 Logi Smg AV 38k Type 2 Logi Shotgun Triage 56k Type A Logi Grenadier Triage 65k Type A Logi SMG Frontline (best gear i can get)
i generally make 250-350k a round, i spend about 150-250k solo in a pub match (50-200k squaded with buddies), i use two of my 19k suits for every one of my higher cost suits.
use better suits when grouped close with corpmates/battlebuddies, because just like a gf, you spend more because they're worth it
Assaults are flankers, heavies go in front, logi's stay behind both(rep and extra dps), recon stays behind all(but supports by sniping heavies/multitargets)
if things look too tough and i can run away, i do. usually this results in one of two outcomes, 1. i make it out of harms way/to my buddies, in the time it takes to respawn I'm back in the fight fully reloaded. 2. i die, half the time closer to rez logi, who helps out again half the time.
thinking that killing a guy before going down is good is a consolation prize, the isn't COD, you need to either kill em all, get away, or make it so your teammates can kill em all. your death matters more than you think.
recognize the effect certain weapons have on people psychologically, i use my mass driver fit to prevent enemy hordes from advancing, to help my squad to advance, or to create dust cover (and yes this actually works), not to kill enemies.
i tend to use higher cost suits the closer a match is
i like to use supply depot's to change my suit if it looks like I'll need a special fit, or if my chances look slim.
remember, since the difference between miitia and standard is cpu/pg, always switch em out if you got extra. |

Errmm if 2 Mimitia Fit guys can tear into you, its not the suit its the player also the suit should not be such an advantage that it plays itself.
My fit costs me 65k and can die if a good player in militia gear has the drop on you, example: you stand still for 1 second and i always use my most expensive fit possible and still make profit since on good games i die 0 to 1 time and on really really awfull games i die 3-5 times and i am always found at the front of battle. |

I wouldn't say it's an advantage so much as a "shoot me, I can't strafe fore for sh*t" sign. They're like tanks... except less tanky. Skilled Assault users can dodge most things. A Heavy doesn't have much choice but to soak up damage, unless they have a lot of cover available of course. I don't even bother bringing them out into wide open maps, between the AR's, Lasers, and snipers, there's just no profit. Now maps where I can force CQC on the other-hand...
OP, you're supposed to earn money based on the value of the other teams gear that's been destroyed... but since everyone just runs militia and level 1 stuff.... Eventually the pay grade should improve as people start using better gear, but who knows how long that will take.

Actually I agree with you.
Although I'm never broke, you should be rewarded more for what you risked on the field as well as what you killed.
You think your suit is expensive? Try my tank, or my viziam suit.
The viziam suit at current costs me about 150k isk per one.
die twice with it, in the hole.
Tank about 760k, until I put some advanced or proto guns on it, then good god. |
