Seriously, do something about it. Add travel time to the sniper rifle so that not every skilless noob can use them. And remove wp gain while in the redzone. I don't hate snipers, i hate noobs who snipe because they are worried only about theyr K/D.

how about "afk" or assaulters who think that zerging/swarming an entrenched position is an actual tactic not that a group of noobs going sniping and doing it badly is a good thing (it obviously isn't) just want to throw in that there are various other versions of "teammate fail" which are equally as bad

I would love if we could deploy the entire corp in public matches. But that would be unfair to the blueberries, right? Being able to kill people while sitting in the redzone perfectly safe instead is perfectly fair... |

Could be worse. You could have 12 scrubberries following you around not doing **** most of the time. I wish I had a pvr because I was being followed by squad of blues when a heavy spawned in front and all 4 of them ran away from it. I killed it but damn you blues are worthless |

+1 on this there are way to many snipers in this game.
CCP needs to make it as SP expensive and Isk expensive to unlock skills as HAV. This might detour so many noobs from being snipers. About 1 of 6 games are ruined because there are 10 snipers on a team.
There are a few good ones that assist there squad or team, (you know the one that saves your but when u were down to like 20 armor and he/she killed the dude that was owning your @ss.) But they are career snipers and will spend the isk/SP to be a better one not just sit in the redline doing nothing the whole game.
PS. To any redline snipers is this game.
Is it fun when u do nothing the whole game to help your team or squad and pad your KDR to sit on top of a meaningless leaderboard. ????
Maybe try to cover them dumb blueberries or MAYBE kill the red dot sniping right next to you or accross the other side of the map that is killing your team. 90% of all snipers are junk players with no gun game and no Kahonas ?? |

Why are snipers behind the red line necessarily the ones not focusing on objectives?
Depending on the map, sometimes sitting behind the red line is the best place to get a good shot in at the majority of the objectives. I'm not above sniping from behind the red line, but I'm not just picking off anyone and everyone. First I'm looking for the best enemy snipers, then I'm looking for people who are winning firefights against my team next to objectives. Randoms running around are the lowest priority... I don't think the location is the problem; you can be a bad sniper from anywhere. |

Once I was in a match where my team got completely steamrolled. After a few failed attempts to retake an objective by myself (since lord knows no one else was going to do anything) I gave up and decided to see if I could get lucky and pull off a few kills with a sniper rifle, something I've only handled a few times.
Shortly after crouching behind some boxes my view was obstructed. I unzoom and find there is a blue standing in front of me and pointing an SMG at me. I scoot a bit to the side, he follows. He was doing this deliberately, trying to keep me from shooting. My theory: he thought I was one of the assholes who sits back there all game and snipes.
Jerk even shot me a couple times. |

I think #4 is collect the sweet, sweet tears of players who choose to be KDR Kittens rather than team players. But maybe that's just me
Honestly it's not really exclusive to the snipers either, I've seen bad heavy players be bad from within the red zone, I've seen bad assault players being bad from within the red zone, I've seen bad gunners (on dropships, HAVs, and LAVs) being bad from within the red zone. I haven't seen bad Logi's being bad within the red zone but speaking as a Logi who's going to notice a bad logi because they'll essentially be doing nothing
And you know what, as irksome as all those above things are, there have been pub matches (and more than a few) where I've been thankful for players riding the bench in the red zone rather than trying to zerg into lines of fire or LAV rush towards turrets/forge gunners/swarms. A well organized corp squad can turn the tide of a battle in many cases, but be it ambush or skirmish there's virtually nothing that can be done to adequately compensate for teammates who throw clones away at such a rapid pace. I'd rather someone get suck in and mix it up than opt out, generally speaking, but I'd rather someone snipe badly and go 3/4 than someone assault badly and go 7/15. At least the sniper gives me more time to work with.
On a closing note, before anyone feels the need to file a 'hurt feelings report' on me, let me say that I've been that bad player playing badly. I've sniped badly, assaulted badly, (kitten, I still fly and drive badly)and I respect the time and effort it takes someone (who doesn't have years of fps experience already under their belts) to develop their skills and compete. So to those who are new I say this, keep trying and focus on two things teamwork and the goal. Ignore petty things like stats and pay attention only to constructive criticism. You'll get better, I did. (cue someone deciding to troll me for the post in 3, 2, 1...)

I'm only flying a Viper, so it's worth it to me to speed towards the red line and abandon ship in these cases. |

You already can, but the snipers are getting wary of TKers- haven't you learned anything from these forums? You can crush teammates with an LAV by switching seats right before you hit them. |

I've seen these folks, they make me laugh because they seem blissfully unaware that they're contributing even less than the 'problem players' they're "stopping". So at least I can chuckle about something as they contribute to their/my side losing that pub match. |

sigh... Redline is the only thing keeping a steamrolling team from sitting under the MCC guys, they're gonna keep it...
wait for the truly massive maps we will eventually get... those blueberries sitting back and being to scare to actually do anything will have nothing to do then |
