This also happens to me when I place one on a slope. If it slides down for too long it just disappears. Also, if it is placed on a ridge right by the red line, sometimes the nanohive stays there and works but the containment field doesn't show up. |

A while ago I threw a drop uplink behind a box and it went under the box and activated. When you spawned on it you were inside the box, could not shoot out, and could only get out by backing up out of the box at a particular angle.
It seems many of these problems come from a small space existing between objects and the things they rest on. This allows for thrown items, like uplinks and nanohives, to slide under them, perhaps because the thrown items bounding boxes are small enough to fit in the space.

Sounds alot like the skill book bug from Fallout 3. You had to lay 13 mines, 10 grenades & shoot with an explosive projectile to dislodge book & pickup. Have lost many a nano to this. |

This is a map/mesh problem. The mesh is not level or possibly not solid so the Hive or Uplink slips down and disappears. Mercs can get stuck in some of them as well.
Look at the link below and identify the map, JPEGs to determine which is which, then post feedback with Grid information and a description. This will allow the map designers to chase down the mesh problem.
