I'm in luck, a homebrew shop opened up literally a mile down the road. Before that I almost always bought online the guy running hearts homebrew in central florida was always an a**hole for some reason. I guess he got entitled because he was the only game in town  . When I do purchase online there are 3 places I stick to:
brewmasters warehouse,
midwest supplies,
and northern brewer.
Northern brewer and brewmasters warehouse both had flat rate shipping last time I checked. Midwest supplies had cheaper grains and malt extract but it only matters if you're buying in smaller quantities because they charge shipping by weight. Nothing beats cracking open a case of homebrewed beer with your friends and family, even if it's only now and then. I'll have to keep an eye out for the Flor de cana, can't pass up on a good ice cold rum  ! |

Has anyone here ever had Malort? It's a Swedish bask that's only sold in Chicago, so next time you're there make sure to try it. Don't buy a bottle, just have a shot at a bar, it's all you'll need of it. |

It doesnt matter too much to me.. I like to start playin with a 40, and if im feelin good enough sometimes i send the girl down to the local bar to get another one haha... Budweiser or genny, who cares. im still getting Drunk n Dusted :D

I'm down in Key West for work for a few weeks, there's a bar on the board walk called Dante's...one of their specialties is called Dark and Stormy. It looked like ginger beer and (a lot of) rum. Wasn't expecting much but it was very good.
Another bar here called the White Tarpon makes a key like pie martini. Sounds girly...well, it is girly I guess, but very tasty and if you have 2 or 3 your gonna need to call a cab.
And if any military guys make it to Sloppy Joes down here, tell the bartender at the horseshoe bar your attached to VFA-122. I asked for a scotch and she poured me a 12 ounch cup of Johnny walker black with 4 ice cubes, then when I was almost done she refilled it. I somehow made it back to my hotel room at 0547 in the morning... |

Just tried the batch of home brew beer I made, been sitting for a few weeks.
And I was....AWFUL
That may be a little aggressive, it tasted like beer, but it was supposed to be a porter and tastes more like coors light.
Then I realized I never purchased the Brewing Skillbook for 99.000 isk (zing)
But seriously, probably more of a lack of skill and experience on my part. Though I am undeterred, I'll probably try another batch this summer and stick to my scotch for now. New favorite : Balvenie Doublewood 17. Never even heard of it til I saw it in a store in Vegas, bought the only bottle they had. |
