You know something I've seen on forum discussions? Most especially ones that are about whether or not a weapon is OP.
"X isn't OP, I can take down anyone using an X with just a Y"
This seems like a weird little fallacy to me, for OP discussions shouldn't the discussion be not whether or not YOU can take down someone using this weapon or mod or whatever. But how it fares in a big open squad sort of fight? I've seen it thus far where an AR with a nice build and great skill was able to rip apart a heavy, so yea he can say, "Heavy's aren't OP, I can juke and shoot them like crazy!" But then I see that same heavy completely wrecking 5 other players in a few seconds who AREN'T great at killing heavy's.
Idk, just my 2 cents on the matter |

There are certain things, in certain situations that are better than others. This is the start of balance. Playing well is maximizing these strengths and mitigating the weaknesses.
Op is when a module starts overlapping, making it good at too many things and/or with out enough drawback...
eg. Heavies have a lot of HP, but are restricted in speed and fitting options. If they had too much life then the speed, or fitting becomes less of a drawback and they become OP... |

To simplify, I seem to see people discussing balance in weapons in terms of whether or not individuals are able to handle them. But not how a single OP class/weapon/mod effects the balance of a full scale match. Maybe that's a bit clearer |

Unless you meet one of the crazy mode players, i doubt you'll see someone make a huge impact on a match just because of the weapon they have... |
