This game is still slow and boring most of the time. Maps and health are huge but movement is gimped so everyone just camps unless you run into another corp making actual pushes. The game is heavy paradise right now with these speeds. I could shoot thorazine directly into my heart and still wreck with an HMG.
Scouts used to be the counter for heavies now they are useless. The rock paper scissor formula for the classes is broken atm. |

DPs tactics are very effective against fatties. Remember fat men cant jump.
But I do agree that straffing could use a little buff. |

Have not played Assault in this update only Logi and god knows if its not the speed its the hitboxes that get us Logi Bros killed.
I actually would like the backwards movement to be a little faster. |

Partially agree. I would increase the gap of classes instead of all base: heavy speed is bottom, every class base increment 150% of the current. E.g. Heavy 4, assault from 5 to 5.5, scout from 6 to 7. |

Scouts were never the counters to heavies.
Movement speed is where it should be. Dust obviously isn't meant to be one of those FPS games where people move incredibly fast. This is something CCP would have decided years ago, when they first started working on Dust. It isn't something that they could realistically change now, to turn the game from a "realistic" sort of FPS into something more like Halo. Asking for strafe, backwards, or forward speed to be substantially increased is like asking for Dust to be an RTS instead of an FPS. It's something that'd fundamentally change the nature of the game, and not something CCP should be expected to even consider. |

If ccp gave us more movement speed I would see no reason to nerf the heavies. The biggest problem with heavies other then range is that there is no counter for them like there used to be. As a scout you could flank a heavy and spin on him. Now if you run at a heavy with anything other then a scout=shotgun you are dead.

I used to see a Heavy and start to try to flank and counter but as a logi its to darn slow and the HMG will slow you down further.

Part of that is corner lag. I get shot around corners sometimes in my assault suit.

I used to see a Heavy and start to try to flank and counter but as a logi its to darn slow and the HMG will slow you down further. Just a bit, not much but just enough to move strafe better. You really, really shouldn't use a logi to solo a heavy... Logistics should be a heavy with less armor but PG and CPU instead, so IMNSHO their hit boxes are also fine. |

Anyways, if we increased speed of infantry, we'd in essence nerf the light vehicles. The purpose of the light class of vehicles is to get people to a point with great speed. I skilled into LAVs and I'm not going to accept this nerf to them. Plus, my scout moves plenty fast, doesn't yours?
PS look into the biotic enhancement skills. |

Did CCP ever truly fix the hit detection? The strafe nerf from way back was one of the "solutions" to the bad hit detection. If it has truly been fixed I see no reason to put it back to where it was previously. |

Yeah I went MD assault last build, but after seeing the top end Logi suits I decided to go that way.
Working on being more sneaky, trying to not fire until I have kill shot and finding better locations for MD.
Our whole squad was impressed with your squads attacks and counters, that was a fun game. Please let the rest of your guys know we enjoyed that fight.

No. It's just as broken as it's always been. Strafe nerf wasn't the only because of hit detection. It was also simply how they wanted the game to play, where "dancing" around shots was less prevalent.

Maybe CCP said that, but it wasn't anymore true then than now. Anyone could beat a heavy if they stayed at range with an AR. Anyone could be a heavy if they got behind them with a shotgun. Scouts aren't the counter to heavies. Being at range with an AR or whatever, or being up close behind them with a shotgun, those are the counters. |
