So a few years back I read about EvE, and how ruthless some of it's inner game tactics and politics can be. From what I read, the developers had this brilliant nonchalant attitude of "Welcome to EvE" You had to adapt or die. That damn simple.
So It is with great amusement, I come to these forums and on a near daily basis I'm met with constant streams of tears from players who feel that "Gun is OP" "Tank is OP" "Too much SP compared too" "Nerf This" "Nerf that". Guys, I'm all for giving feedback, Hell there is a dedicated forum for it, but c'mon.
Look I'm not great, I have a KD that hovers around the 1.2 mark, I get taken down by players who have figured out how to work the SP system to their specific builds advantage. there's just far too many variables to assume that it is a single standard weapon that is OP. I guess what I'm saying is, Enough with your whining. You remind me of the time my brother would stomp out of the room because I only beat him due to having 'the better' controller.
Adapt or die. |

The "Welcome to New Eden" attitude is alive and well in EVE Online and DUST 514. Coming from both the devs and players.
But there are legitimate balance issues being (and yet to be) addressed in DUST 514 as well, because unlike EVE, it's a brand new game that's still actually in beta (as opposed to EVE's "permanent beta" status that isn't an official beta test). |

I hope you're not implying that there aren't legitimate balance issues with Supercaps Online (or Eve, or whatever it is called)?

Well right now we're waiting on the entire results of the AV vs HAV fight. Nobody up to murader vs proto type levels yet.
As for mostly everything else we advocating a foam hammer nerfs. The heaviest to nerf items wanted by the IRC reasonables is the laser rifle to allow for variants to exist and make overheating a real issue.
Other nerfs discussed in the IRC... Weaken the tracking ability of swarm missiles to allow expert pilots to dodge them. Fix Swarm launcher wall passing ability (likely lag and graphcis not matching) Adjust the optimal range of the HMG to make its max damage closer but mainting same distance. Adjust sniper rifle curve to make advanced and prototype sought for. Adjust AV grenade/grenade supply rates Adjust prototype nanohive fitting requirements Fix the dropship. Fix small rails Fix missile turrets.
Other than that the gun game feels pretty much solid-ish. |
