That we brought the Scout suit back up to what it used to be...
PG/CPU is terrible, HP values are laughable and speed isn't enough to save you from even the most basic of Heavy suits.
I'm hard pressed to find anything worthwhile that the Scout suit offers that the Assault suit doesn't do better apart from the 0.24 m/s faster sprint speed and I'm honestly tired of waiting for CCP to get to fix the damn thing.
As far as athletics go, the Scout suit runs slower than most Olympic runners and that's including the servomotors that are supposedly supposed to make the suit's user run faster.
I mean, really, you ever tried chasing down an Assault Suit without a Kinetic Catalyzer? It takes a while and god forbid you have a pair of Nova Knives out being as you (still) can't charge them while sprinting.
Oughta just call it the Gallente Sniper Suit. |

I agree that Adv/Proto heavies need to get fixed, if only because the game in it's current state practically begs you to go Assault Suit with an Assault Rifle. 'Specialization' is a synonym for 'Support' now. |

God, and to think this is Open Beta... How the bloody hell did we come this far just to have such a bland, "balanced" and generic game..? |

Well, maybe they'll detail some of the upcoming changes in their NeverTM dev blog on dropsuits. |

That's just stupid. Why does the AR need higher range? I bean people from really far with that thing already, and I don't even have the sharpshooter maxed yet.
Also, keep in mind it's a Gallente weapon, and a blaster. The Caldari and Minmitar variants will likely come with higher optimal and max ranges. |

+1 to that. Agree completely. ARs are perfectly fine as they are right now and all the QQing about Heavy Machine Guns is annoying... |

Explain your Grenade fix as locus grenades are pretty unreliable at the moment, are you wanting to nerf the AV grenades?
AR's already do more damage and fire more accurately. The only thing the HMG would have on it at that point is fire-rate and mag size, which doesn't count for much at engagement ranges where the target is farther than your optimal; it'd be a counter for Shotguns at that point and it does so terribly. This would, in turn, make the AR even more of a staple weapon and would prevent players from specializing in other weapons for something that is far more superior due to it's versatility in all fields, rather than a handful of situations. Essentially, it should be a bread and butter weapon that's -good-, not the -best-.
Lasers do need to have their skills fixed, but they're pretty well balanced as is.
Swarms I don't use enough to really comment, other than the fact that I hate that there's no practical dumb-fire mode.

I hate these threads because the problem is they way it is in its current state, nearly every weapon gets joined at the hip with a specific suit and that's a whole other bag to work with. Most AR users still die to a heavy and a shotgun scout user, snipers are just all over the place, lasers have their place and everyone for the most part seems to have stopped bitching about them.
The one thing I am seeing that may be valid to say is that other than kills, the big problem that heavies face is that they have the least amount of potential to build war points other than through pure kills; they're not going to win the race to capturing objectives with their speed and it makes little sense for them to even use a blaster installation. I can't even remember seeing a heavy ever revive someone either or lay down a nanohive.
Not here to derail the thread but just saying it's all about the weapon is a problem in my eyes since they shouldn't be thought of individually; its really a weapon and dropsuit that makes it complete. And while I agree it's easier to build around an AR (more dropsuit options and more freedome in how you choose to play) it also means the freedom comes at the expense of choosing one skill over another. At least with a heavy you kind of know what path your going and what to allocate to. May not sound like a wonderful consolation prize but it is one at least and it's a pretty straightforward style of play as well. |

It seems like common practice in MMO's to over nerf then buff later. Its so common its probably intentional. My guess is they want a large amount of data from both ends of the spectrum in order to find the right middle ground. So if these suits were nerfed late in closed beta (Im new here) and they still want more testing, we will have to wait untill the average sp total rises.
I would think the best way to speed things up is by making high end corp battle vids from different suit perspectives. Thats alot of assumptions though and it could just be low priority. |

Were nerfed quite a few months back. Heavies in the July-August area and Scouts were "nerfed" when they implemented strafe speed reductions -AND- hitscan (both at the same time instead of one or the other) in the August-September (maybe October?) area.
So yeah, they've had -plenty- of time to gather data. Just starting to look like another traditional CCP NeverTM shenanigan. |

You must be joking. If you think scout fits are poor. Your playing the class wrong. Shot gun scout owns everything. I used to come top all the time and that's before new berries. You talk about chasing people down. Yes, iv played that game before, it's irresistible and yes assaults take ages to catch. But that's not why your fast. Running after people is not the scouts suits objective. Flanking is. You should use that low profile, high scan suit to avoid your prey until you have the upper hand and death should come before they know about it. Not after a 2 minute marathon. Also pg and CPU is fine. If you can fill your highs with top end shield extenders and use a top end shotgun with only a 1 CPU enhancer on the advanced suit then fitting is not a problem. Proto items should be for proto suits. All suits are too easy to fit at the minute in my opinion. And that's why proto suits are really not worth their money |

Are you kidding me? shotgun scout is a joke, the suit has less then half health compared to the assault suit and only 5 less db then the assault suit, the speed advantage is about 5% and thats not really going to make a difference.
Scouts suits are a joke, aside from the 40 recharge rate (wich you can easily outdo with a shield recharger on the proto suit with 3 complex shield extenders ~450 shields with 40 recharge rate) they have no advantage whatsoever. It's better to run shotgun with an assault suit than it is with a scout suit.
All you people qqing about OMG I **** PEOPLE WITH MAI SHOTGUN/SCOUT COMBO! just equip an shotgun on a assault suit and you get exactly the same results. |
