I've seen a lot of tears regarding weapons and bonuses to shield/armor damage. I'm curious if anyone else would just like to see a change to the racial resistances like in eve. Armor usually has a low explosive resistance so put an explosive hardener and an energized adaptive. I'm not quite sure how it would work with the current fittings but I think it would help even out some of this AV crying I see. If swarms do explosive and they kill you, tank more for explosive, if lasers kill you, tank for EM. I think it would put peoples futures more in their own hands instead of just having to accept an extra 30% damage because its on your armor or shields.
Thoughts from the eve players? I'll answer what I can, from non-eve'ers, best I can. |

I imagine these kinds of things are in the pipe, there just aren't enough weapons with different damage types (especially AV, only explosive and hybrid ATM) to require them, and we don't even have ammo types yet! (WTB Antimatter VS charges for my shotgun)
These are the current damage types (TY Iron Wolf)

I would def like to see something like eve,
Adapts for everything and specifics well for specifics.
I know this stuff is soon tm , but it would prob be a big help imo. |

explosives deal more damage to shields than armor? surprising.
but more on topic, i dunno that dropsuits have enough slots to really fit competent resistance tanks, at least not the first few tiers. especially for the heavy, even a prototype only has 2 low slots right? |

the explosives thing is a typo. Every 1 knows how fast armor tanks die by AV grenades and swarms. And shield tanks can take quite a beating with those weapons mentioned. |

also tanks and such need hull hp... I mean untanked hp but it can still be useful for getting out alive. Plus who doesn't want to roll around in an honor tank?
I don't think dropsuits need to be as complex but the tanks/mechs/fighters jets would all have enought staying power to justify some more detail. |

IMO everything should have hull (life support for suits), the only thing suits shouldn't have to deal with is capacitor since they don't have any variable power modules/weapons. |

yeah my bad its the other way around shields resists explosions better than armor does but only slightly. projectiles are inversely they do more shield damage than armor damage in the same portions. |

IMO there's no need to try to implement damagetype vs resistance on dust scale. Better keep it simple and add complexities elsewhere. |

I like the idea of hull for vehicles, would make damage controls about as useful as EvE's, right now they are nearly useless.
I also would like to see some kind of health for mercs listed after shields/armor with skills to increase. I have survived some firefights and snipers with 0 shields and 0 armor raising the question of what is keeping me alive. |
