I do not agree with the point of view of the people who are putting the blame on CCP for other people clearly abusing a mechanic for an unintended result and damaging everyone else's experience.
Still, since people are going to have no integrity (it's just a game so who cares about that, right?) they need to make improvements to the system. You need to get kicked for going idle whether you are spawned or not. But then I'm sure there will be people who put tape on an analog stick and continuously run at the wall. Perhaps get booted out if you gain 0 WP after a set amount of time. I mean, even terrible players get some points, right? Except dropship pilots, they can be doing their job excellently and get nothing.
disclaimer: I do not know who is popular and not or any of that, never even heard of Kain before. This is just my unbiased opinion. |

It is a bit upsetting to see many people sharing the general opinion that it doesn't matter what happens during public matches because their outcome means nothing. There are still people who enjoy playing a game because it's fun, even if there's no impact on New Eden. What these people are doing is ruining my experience and making it less fun, which is the whole reason I'm playing a game. I'm not saying call in all your expensive stuff to win public matches at all cost, but at least do something. Exploits should be frowned upon regardless of where they take place, especially ones that handicap your team, but that's just my opinion.
Again I have no clue who this Kain is so I'm not trying to support one player or another, merely sharing my thoughts on the issue in general. |

It really isn't a big deal - doubt Kain will care. You may not understand repercussions but it's fine. A lot of us really don't care for pub matches. That may upset many - but blame CCP. We're forced to play in those matches wether we like it or not if we're to progress. What would you prefer, because if a squad of imperfects went AFK as red berries to you - pretty sure you wouldn't be complaining about a loss of fun. And many of us are on level with the destruction they sow out - and we're bored.

This is a big deal, unless you don't have the capability to express care towards others. Regardless of how you view public matches, many people are playing these just to have fun and you are hindering that by "leeching" for lack of a better term. And while CCP can certainly take measures to prevent this from happening, I know their intention wasn't for people to "leech" and ruin others' experience so I won't blame them, I will blame the people who's intention was to "leech."
Also you are not "forced to play in those matches." That is why passive skill points exists. If you don't have to time to play as much as others then don't complain that you can't keep up with them. And the whole "we're bored" excuse is extremely poor.
Going off topic, I do agree that CCP needs to get that next update out already!  |

Also reading through this and getting a better idea for how big this Kain guy is, I understand what Deadeye is getting at by calling him out. In short it's not to be a jerk, it's to point out how bad this issue has become. Why would he record a video of a random player? I'm sure we have all seen this before and are aware that it is taking place. But the fact that someone who deeply cares about the game and it's community is also taking part in it just sends out bad vibes that this behavior will become acceptable unless something is done soon. |

And this is exactly why I tend to stray away from MMO's. People don't play to have fun, they play to unlock stuff. And it ultimately reflects in the gameplay.
There is no need to accuse people of "crying" because they have a different opinion than you as you did in a few responses earlier. I am however not sure you are seeing the bigger picture here - things escalate. Right now it's not uncommon to find one player each match who is AFK for free skill points. It's not that big a deal presently because one player doesn't make or break a 16 man team (that still doesn't make it right). However, if we let this become acceptable behavior then soon more and more people will start doing it until eventually you may have half your team AFK which is pretty significant, or worse every time you queue up for a public match the majority of people on both teams are AFK - sure it may be fair if both teams have the same number of skill point padders but playing with half the player count is not nearly as fun as the full thing, too bad some people don't care about "fun" any more.

Great way to ignore your horrible argument so far and summarize it for us <3 Now, make sure to throw in how incredibly jealous you lose when people go afk in your games, but I do fine in mine. And for the records, I can hold my own when outmatched as well. Doesn't mean everyone can.
Look, I understand why you have the opinion you do. It is helping the said player to get better fittings to help his or her corporation gain a strong foothold in New Eden. It is still a selfish move. Yes, corporations can become very serious business, but it should never come at the expense of someone else (other than the corps getting destroyed, of course  )
CCP will surely put in a system to kick players leeching anyways, not like any of our arguments matter. Just a nice way to expose the integrity level of some people. Carry on. |

Because I consistently see 0-9, 0-12, 0-14s in matches I play in and I don't make posts on the forums about them "costing me a match" by their horrible gun game.
If it was a no name scrub you saw chilling in the MCC there would be no post.
When I play a match my main goal is to win, but I understand I can't win them all. When I see a player go 0-9 I'm not upset because I know he was at least trying and that's all you can ask for from a public match. The person going 0-0 in the MCC? Yeah I get a bit upset at him because again all I ask is that he tries.
