On occasion while playing I'll hear a brief, sharp sound--one at a time, mind you--that sounds similar to what I'd expect a bullet hitting sand/my shield would sound like. It differs from the sound of bullets passing close to me when engaged in a close quarters firefight, in that it sounds more like slight impact than a near miss.
I'm not sure if this is an ambient effect or related to the glancing effect I've noticed both in game and referenced fairly often on the forums, that results when a shot you fire at a target results in the shield effect but no damage. Anyone else experience this same phenomenon? Does it indicate that I'm being nearly hit by a sniper or am I just paranoid? |

usually it means there's a sniper that's trying to hit you, but is failing miserably. |

Sniper bullet. Depending on where you are, here is what I would do. I consider myself a decent sniper, the people that typically get away from me are ones who: -Run and walk at random. -Zig Zag. -Get into a building.
What not to do: -Hide in a corner and think you are safe, unless you know where the sniper is. |

I too have experience this odd sound, at first I thought it was a sniper just missing his target on me but during the next game I was in a position where nobody could possibly know where to locate me and the sound was there. Seems to repeat every 2-3 seconds. I put it down to a sound glitch, eventually. Perhaps it is what is causing the overall sound issues at the moment. |

In my case you should hear distant raging and monitor bashing as a miss indicator. |

What you're hearing is one of my milita sniper rounds doing its thing... missing. I'm a terrible sniper. |
