Maybe it's already there and I missed it, but an option to reset your spent SP and return your character to the original skill set would be great! But then you can reinvest the SP you cleared however you wish. I for one have some spent SP I'd like back to reinvest in other areas. As I never really use what I've spent my SP on. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in that regard. |

Nope. The choices you make have consequences. You skill into something, that skill is always useful, because you can always go back and use it later. Keeping SP where it is also helps to discourage FOTM, so if logi become super OP, not everyone will be able to use it. |

Yep, i agree. I already re-started few characters, because i didn't liked the direction i was going to with them. If i could relocate SP, in about 2 minutes i will ended up with a prototype armor set, and a prototype rifle. That will kill the balance of the game in my opinion. |

We have had this discussion in EVE over and over again for those not familiar with the EVE forums. People say that they put SP into skills they don't use any more, but the truth is that even if you aren't currently using a skill, it still can be used. The solution to this issue is not reinvesting SP, but making a skill plan that encompasses everything you want to do. I for one am spending my first 1.5 or so million to get access to a bunch of different types of weapons, then I will decide which ones I like most, and specialize in that weapon. |

Or multiple resets depending on how long you were in closed beta... |

I support skill resets.
Sorry but we aren't all no lifers who can play forever and re-roll new characters all the time, and this game explains nothing well so I bet lots of players have points in things they never plan to use.
Additionally if you build a character on a certain set-up and a patch alters that, you may not want that set-up anymore because it doesn't suit your needs as well as another, all that time invested in the character wasted? I think not.
Simply balance it by giving skill resets a long recharge time, like once you reset you got to wait 100 days before can do it again. |

There's going to be SP for AUR, just pay for it that way. No need to reset, just wait until you have more SP. |

I'm not in favor of a skill reset but an option to undo a skill upgrade for a very short period of time after upgrading would be nice, incase you accidentally selected the wrong thing or realized quickly after getting it and using it in one match it's not what you wanted.
And yes, people can accidentally upgrade a skill. Well, I did at least - wanted to get "Caldari Dropship" but misread the skill I was hovering over and got "Caldari Dropsuit."
I guess I'll use it one day . . . |

i agree with SP reset
i think it will be very useful to have the ability to mold/fine tune your character to specific needs of your corp or incase you get tired of being in a tank and want to be a logi for a bit....put a cool down on it, make it cost more and more each time you do it
True,no skill is useless.....on a long enough timeline, but the here and now sometimes requires you better spend what SP you have somewhere else.
just haveing that option would mean alot to old and new players alike |

I've mostly been for resetting your skill points, however, ive come to the other side and think this is a bad idea to a point. Sometimes CCP will jack a skill into uselessness.... That being said I would like to have a single skill reset option. Have it set for 2 times per calander year. So if say forge weapons become useless you will have the option of getting those now wasted skill points back . You earned them so why not and it will resist fotm changers. I for absolutely am horrid at assault rifles but can snipe a scout across the mapwith a forge gun with no problems, took me a while to realize it and now have AR at level 3.

Horrible idea. I have deleted 4 toons so far because I skilled into the wrong things initially.
If I could have reset my SP, it would have been convenient, but I wouldn't have learned my lesson. Take care when purchasing anything other than a restock. This game isn't meant to be forgiving. If anything, I would prefer everything that costs ISK to cost a little more, I'm sick of seeing careless rambos on the field, and hearing about rambo SP users off the field. |

Seems a bit hardcore answer. A lot of who play the gAme work 40+ hours a week I don't have time to restart a clone if CCP decides to jack with a skill. This option only resets 1 skill not all of them. As well only 2 times per year, I appreciate the feedback |

It could work if after you have earned, say 100 sp from combat you get the option to respec your skills. This would allow people to get a hang of the game and then specialize.

This has been posted before and the truth is CCP doesn't have this option in EVE and that's been going on for 10+ years now - and since in essence we can buy every skill available on the market given enough time and ISK - there is really no reason for a reset of SP. So think before you spend. Dust 514 is as much a thinking game as it is a FPS.
Reseting made sense in other games like MAG and others, because you weren't able to buy all the skills even if you were maxed out. |

This works for me!
I was suggesting the reset because in other games that involve skill points there is always the option to reinvest the points. And I've taken advantage of it many times. It's nice to be able to play different set ups with a decently advanced loadout till you find your niche. |

A lot of people here are admitting that they want a skill reset to chase the FOTM build. That's exactly why the skill system is there, so you can NOT do that. People who "reroll" their toons are making the serious mistake. If you didn't reset you could have ALL of those skills on the same toon in the same amount of time. |

At the risk of being redundant, the value of a persistent universe where player choices matter is that choices matter there are no 'quick saves' no 'reloads' no 'respecs' and no 'do overs'. You make your bed and then you sleep in it.
Also Dust is a free to play game with years of support and content in the pipeline, it also has no "level cap" like many games so there are no wasted skills in Dust because A) every skill is actually useful in it's proper context, and B) you can get every skill in the game to max level if you play long enough.
The game is designed with a play scope of years in mind, reducing it to a matter of months by removing the fundamental impacts of player choice is 180 degrees the wrong direction to be taking.

I don't really see the point of rerolling characters as there's no limit on how many skills or SP you can have. So if you've trained a sniper and want a logi, you may as well train from that character for whatever light weapon and defence skills you already trained.
Against resets too. CCP never did it with Eve and I doubt they'll do it with this game. If you spent your SP on the wrong skill, be more careful next time. You might find it useful later on. |
