I've had a quick look on these forums and I can't find one.
The dropship guide was excellent, but is there anything like that for tanks? |

Nope. There's bits of advice about tanking here and there, but none of the good tankers have made a guide and posted it on public forums.
Tanking has lots of strategies and details that aren't that obvious, and tanks are important to corp battles. The good corps don't always want to give away their strategies for corp battles, and since tanking is something that is based off of corp strats, the tanking strats are just kept a secret too.
^_^
if you want to learn about tanking, you should learn it in your corp. Sorry this is kind of mean and contrary to what the training ground is designed for, but hopefully it answers your question. |

Tomorrow I'll post a tank thread here, I had one in my old corp section but it no longer exists. |

That would interesting. I'm now thinking of doing LAVs first as a transition phase to HAVs. |

Step 1 ... dont die fit the best tank you can and run if you start taking heavy dmg.
Step 2 ... think about shooting. always have step 1 in mind and your aloud to shoot at things.
This is fundamentally how to use a tank |

I wouldn't persue LAV's they are just to squishy especially when everyone is sporting advanced gear or higher. Basically any fit made to bust tanks makes LAV's just explode on site.
Stick with your free fit and throw extra shields and armor on it beyond that I would just go with tanks. |

I have a rough draft I've been working on for a few days now. I'm just polishing the last little bits. Once it's done I'll post it here. Sorry for the delay. |

I like what OMI said, and I want to add that LAVs require slightly different skills than HAVs, like turrets and such. |

There still might be a place on the battlefield for LAVs other than chariots for heavy suits. I really haven't messed around with it much but putting a CRU and a scanner in one and bascially staying out of the fight might be worth it.

Shield transporters/ remote repair
edit: I'm not sure how effective the remote repair is, but I know shield transporters can't out heal even militia AV @.@ |
