There should be some sort of shield which protect you when you spawn.
I think it should work this way: makes you inmune to everything for 5 seconds after spawning but it disapperas if you perform any action but moving, jumping or switching weapons. |

5 seconds is a very long time. As is, you are protected until you are fully loaded best I can tell. Besides, the only place where spawn death is truly an issue is Ambush generally, and in that case, it is Ambush, which is to say, "Surprise, you're dead." Pretty standard I think. |

Nope, as a guy that has been ganked before the black even started to fade away, and a guy that has killed plenty of people 10 seconds later at their droplink as they materialize, there is no protection whatsoever. |

Place drop links. Intelligently. Also, communicate with your team. No amount of temporary invincibility will prevent the inevitable. Random spawns will be improved by CCP, but drop link camping is here to stay as long as people have voice chat disabled. |

Well, maybe 5 is too much, make it 3, but still its needed.
And the issue youre speaking about in Ambush is not the same im talking about on Skirmish, Im not talking about the "surprise ure dead".
There are some mechanichs that are kinda exploitable, say a Heavy dropsuit camps a spawnpoint instead of taking it, he can quickly deplete the clone reserve of the opposing team on a Skirmish, where the mechanichs are intended to be blowing de enemy's mcc. |

Then don't spawn there and communicate with your team telling them not to spawn there.

Why the denials?
I've always found that ppl use to have some pre-established judgements in their minds and when a new idea is introduced they automatically say no to that without even giving it a single thought, so this is what i ask you.:
What would happen, so bad, that this feature desereves only a taxative NO?
I mean, ive played tons of games, and even some gamemodes of quake2, unreal tournament, etc. had it... |

It works both ways, once i spawned right in front of two other guys that were taking cover. A grenade and few bullets later, i got two free kills. |

Yes some protection would be nice. Some form of spawning behind friendly lines or something similar would be appreciated. I have died quite a few times because I appeared in or next to a bunch of the redberries. Also shot a few who spawned right in front of me :-) |

i would love it just long enough to be able to aim and fire back and get into cover, because it irritates me so much when i get out right after being healed. |

Spawn protection brings in its own problems, though. In theory, it's fine for Ambush were you can accidentally spawn in the wrong spot, but what about in Skirmish? How annoying would it be trying to capture a Null Cannon only to have some invincible guy spawn on top of you and kill you because of bad timing. Ambush would also be broken because the people spawning on top of you would have a huge advantage because they're invulnerable.
Personally, I wanted something more along a different thought process because it can be very frustrating dying to someone with spawn protection on because you were trying to capture a point he was spawning at. I would think more like this:
-If you die within two or three seconds of spawning, your items aren't consumed or you are reimbursed the cost (or at least a fraction of it.) |

Spawning into a rain of gunfire and chaos is far too close to how New Eden should feel and as such should remain just so. I feel that if we were given shields I would feel a bit too coddled. This is supposed to be a harsh, unforgiving, infuriating and demanding atmosphere. A bullet to the head is a warm welcome in New Eden, frankly a spawn shield would be kind of rude. |
