You have to keep in mind that there are several people who have invested in the support skills rather than going straight to unlocking new gear. While they are in militia gear, they might be running with 25% more shields and armor, have longer range, and have tighter shot groups.
Also I am sure there are several skilled players who run around in strictly militia gear while playing alone. I will not use any dropsuit other than the standard "Enforcer" dropsuit unless I am in a corporate battle. This leads to a massive amount of profit because even if I play poorly for one game, I still have 200k in profit every time |

Now that I am back home, here is just an overview of some of the stats that a person going in the support skills will have. If the person has chosen to invest strictly into Weaponry V and Field Mechanics V (all probable at this point in the beta), his standard Militia Drop suit is running at 218.75 armor and 125 shields while using his basic assault rifle which will be dealing 34.1 damage per hit. There are several other thing to take into account such as magazine size, rate of fire, and accuracy, but for the sake of example I am just using the basic numbers. He gets this for a skill point investment of only 621,840. So his totals are 343.75 HP with 34.1 damage per hit.
On the other hand, if he chose to rush to the top end Duvolle Assault Rifle, while bypassing support skills he invests 621,840 just to unlock usage of the weapon. Assuming he has at least Weaponry II, his rifle is doing 35.464 damage per hit. That Duvolle isn't easy to fit either, at a cost of 90 CPU and 13 PG. SO he is going to want at least a decent suit to fit it. So he invests at least 198,000 SP for his Assault Type II. It has 225 shields and 115.5 armor, assuming Field Mechanics II. In this scenario he has a total HP of 340.5 and 35.464 damage per hit with a skill point investment of 896,580.
These scenarios leave out other facts such as fitting. skill level. what other skills could be invested into at this point, but you can at least get an idea of what you can get from investing in those side skills that don't necessarily get you noticed by using unique equipment, but you might be standing toe to toe with people in better dropsuits. The cost to field these is the final punch, militia is free. An Assault Type II with just a Duvolle is 63,000 ISK per lost suit. I am a big fan of fighting the ISK war, and I am sure other people play like I do. If I make your team loses millions of ISK in Dropsuits and Vehicles and I lose nothing, I win the game. |
