This is going to be a long post, so prepare yourself.
I am new to this game, just got it last night and I love it. It reminds me in some ways of playing Star Wars Battlefront 2 as a kid on my PS2. Ok, let me get at my point. I am kind of confused about some of the gameplay. So I understand that each game gives you some money based on your performance. And I saw that when I killed somebody, a +50 came across my screen. I assumed at first it was just experience and I would soon level up. When no level up came, I finally realized that there was no level up system. So are the weapons you use just based on the money you pay?
After that, I have some praise for the game. It is just awesome. The maps are expansive, so it gives a different feel than games like Call of Duty where the average life is about 1 1/2 minutes. This allows players to get their bearings so they can see what needs to be hacked, and where they can hack the safest. I really like this aspect.
Also the feature of players being able to call in orbital strikes and call down vehicle drops. I was also under the impression there were flying vehicles in the game, but I didn't see any in the game.
Also, can someone explain to me how the EVE Online players play into this? |

Skill points are accrued and you need to spend them in whatever skills you want to train. There's loads of them so you might want to check what each does first.
Weapons and other equipment are bought from the market. Buy in bulk, not one of each unless all you want to do is check them out. Then you need to fit your dropsuit, either you edit your starter fittings and replace equipment with better things you bought or create a new one.
I'd go over all the tutorials in game if i were you.
EDIT: EVE players can only participate in corp battles for now. They can go over the planet Dust players are fighting on, connect from orbit into the battle going on and when players call in a strike, the EVE player will be able to fire it on the planet. Also, yeah, dropships aren't as popular in this build but they're available. You can buy one right now as there are militia level ones that don't need skills to buy or fly but expect to crash it very quickly while you're new. |

On the vehicles front, its because vehicles require a huge sp and isk investment to run so they're aren't huge amounts of them going round, you're going to see more vehicles as the game progresses and people start investing in them though. |

There are a few places you can look to help you out but you have started on the right foot.
Don't be afraid to ask questions but first try to do as much reading as possible. Most everything is explained either in game or there is a training grounds section on the forums.
Coming on the forums asking for help is a great way to get ahead and you can usually find a corp. willing to train you (i.e. Dust University). People are willing to help if you are willing to wade through the trolls.
My advice beyond read as much as you can, when first skilling find what you like and skill into that. Be specialized in what you're good at then branch out, I would say after 2 million sp into a specialty class you can diversify your skills. |

You don't auto level up in dust 514, you have to pick your levels from your character sheet, each skill has 5 levels, some new levels requires you to buy the skill book first.
Shop around and see what all skills are available, remember there is no level cap on the character however it is far better to find the skills you like most and stick with those until you max those out before going else where and trying new things. |
