Either I've been living under a rock, it's a glitch or we have a new ambush mode. On my battle finder there is a second ambush option under skirmish called ambush OMS. thoughts? |

ambush off map support. pretty much the same thing but with OFF MAP SUPPORT :D! |

Yeah, I've tried it myself and I'm not sure I like it. My reasons are more to do with believability than anything else. This sort of thing must be an experiment or testing for some future feature in my mind, rather than an intended gameplay model.
First, I wonder at the logic of random objects dropping on the field with no ownership.
Second, I wonder why.
Third, I sigh.
1, 2, and 3 shouldn't even happen really, or at very least, I should have an immediate answer spring to mind that is relativel believable.
Do you know what mine was?
We are in an arena and EVE pilots are sitting in a station betting on our activities, and possibly paying for items to be dispatched and dropped on the field to up the stakes or potentially change the rules or dynamics because they seem unfavorable. Yet it is a risk, because those dropped support units can be used by either side, or ignored completely by both as the fighting moves past or continues elsewhere.
..except I know that isn't happening, and it's only remotely believable, and in reality, it is my mind trying to rationalize a cause for what I am experiencing. Despite that, I play EVE and pay some attention at least to the development cycle, and thus find my rationalization to be slightly absurd for knowing.
Right, so we have items dropping from space for no explicable reason, and that is what is really happening. 
Ultimately, it is just ambush with some added flavor; sort of like someone sprinkled an extra little dash of pepper on a meal which already contains plenty of pepper. Not much more than it was.
I think we can do without it, but I will entertain it for the sake of testing experiments.  |

Eventually these will be purchasable and players will have to send them down themselves instead of waiting on them to spawn.
Still can't wait to go buy a couple just so I can land them on a sniper's head. |
