Movement. I've said this and stressed it multiple times, but Movement needs an overhaul or some major tweaking.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=k3SdzUgXDUs
This is one of the better Youtubers out there, and his major griped is movement. Yes, there is a "heavy ness" and CCP wants to put "weight" into things, but it feels forced and unnecesarry. If you played the Replication build, movements were faster, more fluid and natural. When you got a kill it felt like you actually achieved something and that was the unique movement Dust needed. Yes, we are wearing armor, and it is possible to make it feel better using modules, but the current scheme feels punishing. Many of the better players have resorted to Scout suits just because they feel right and fast and natural. This is the one major thing missing from Dust that makes it feel "generic" and dated when it actually isn't Although Replication had it's flaws, the movement and "quickness" of the game made me overlook all that. |

As you said, wear a Scout suit. It's fluid, fast, agile, and could dunk from the three-point line. It feels very much like any generic AAA FPS feels these days.
The other suits are less agile by design. |

It's the only fluid suit, if you'd been in earlier builds you would know that other suits could feel weighty and "powerful" without the forced sluggishness. |

Not sure which build you're talking about, but I've been here since August.
Granted, I've been playing Scout only for quite a while, so I'll check the other suits to see if I agree. |

Sorry, I meant replication, the build before e3. This build had increased strafing movement and overall quicker movement. |

Ah the rose colored memories of Replication, when 30% of your bullets vanished into the ether, Swarm Launchers were rocket shotguns, and it was literally impossible to play more than four matches without a crash. |

Strafing movement feels unnaturally slow to me as well; OTOH I can hop better than the Easter Bunny.

Anyone remember getting thrown into the air just by walking near certain structures? That was interesting...
The old Skirmish (it was a bit like a single platoon of MAG's Domination) was fun though...I do hope it comes back eventually. |

A lot of people complain about how the movement is sluggish and clunky, and I agree. It needs some work to make it more fluid. So far the only suit that seems fluid to me is the scout, some work should be done to other suits as well, not to make them faster just more fluid and smooth when moving. |

There is currently an important relationship between weapon/turret tracking speed and sprinting/running/strafing speed. I am sure with some weapons it is possibile to 'get under the guns' (as we say in eve) of other players and strafe around them, back and forth, or run towards them in a way that exploits the disadvantage of whatever weapons they are using. I would like to start some research on this when I get time to find out different weapons 'tracking speed' and other modifiers to players angular velocities. |

I'm also hoping for the return of Skirmish 1.0. It was unbalanced as heck, with battles often being 100% decided long before they actually ended (if you got your MCC passed the first phase quickly enough, it could complete the docking without the need to take a single point from the defenders) but boy was it fun. You really felt like part of an army on the move.
I'm hoping they'll bring it back, only with the defending side getting a head start to entrench their positions. If the player commanders are implemented, it would be more like a tower defense game for them than an RTS. |

Finally, it was fun. But Eve players who can't use controllers for **** whined and killed it. |

It was nerfed because it came to the attension of CCP that 90% of the fights at CQC (of which were most fights because hit detection was actually worse at range) turned into a big dance off of unloading clip after clip, guess what that didnt make people who knew how to strafe at a slight advantage it made us un hitable i can recall multiple time running into a group of 6 people and winning because no one could hit me and i was using a assualt suit i tested out the scout to which i found i could make a average player waste all his ammo trying to hit me if i just strafe and jump without trying to shoot back,
People need to realise what we have now is a far sight better than the old movement that kitten would have turned any potential player off, i agree it needs a slight buff but i also would say the game need a hip fire clustering decrease, acceleration. Some people look back at that with fond memories i have no idea why the game felt to flighty to feel like my failure on positioning ment notting if i could just move the left stick left right left jump right left to get the upper hand again.
As much as i liked the old skirmish mode the rest of that build was not as good as people say |

Back in replication it still took 5 bullets to kill most people 10 to kill a heavy. Anything more than that and you were doing it severely wrong. |

I think the ADS is my only real complain besides the "twitchy" reload mechanic. I think the ADS (Aim Down Sight) mechanic is a little rough, and too stiff. Does not feel as fluid as most FPS titles at the moment. Other then that the movement is fine, but that is just my own opinion. It could be sluggish like KILLZONE2 -- which I did not mind either. Oh well. |

As i said it could use a bit of a buff but not back to the old speed the old speed too much like halo or quake, acceleration could be added to make a feeling of weight a feeling of weight can be added with out the slow speeds its how the speed is delivered to make you feel like a person not a floating camera, iam simply stating that what we have now is better than rep and a damn site better than the one before that
Aslo have to agree with ironblood there is definitely something wrong with when you aim down sights its clunky feels like there aint enough diversity in the sensitivity always going over or under the mark at mid close ish range |

Base movement is way to slow and slugish. It is one of my biggest complaints with this game. I would like to see movement speeds brought back up to the pre E3 build. Hit detection was broken and worse than now, But the game and the gun fights were fast and fun. |

I mostly play heavy but I do occasionally do my 'skinweave' scout to set up drop uplinks and I am amazed every time at how fast that thing goes. But in turn, I do feel weak. |

CCP nerfed the core game mechanics before we even got a chance to see how the it ran with proper hit detection. |

Agree with the OP, really sluggish movement in this game. It's irritating at worst, but not something you won't eventually get used to. I do hope they tweak it up though. |

In the Replication build, and prior builds, suits had higher movement and jump speeds, there was more flexibility, and it was overall more fluid and fun. Then, they changed all that in an attempt to "fix" hit detection. |

Few people agreed with you back then that it was more fun. It also didn't fit in with CCPs vision of the game as a wargame, not an arcadey twitch shooter.

The only problem I have is the ADS sensitivity. Feels really stiff. |

Actually most of the original testers enjoyed the speed of the game. BTW COD isn't really about faster reflexes. It's all about map control. If you are running around like an idiot your playing it severely wrong |

The recent movement change bothered me a lot the first time I jumped back into the beta. After about a week it grew on me though, I actually prefer it over how it used to be. Too often gunfights became nothing but a couple of people strafing and jumping constantly and spraying wildly, like we're playing halo with SMGs. That's just lame play IMO, the movement the way it is now advocates more tactical play.
I absolutely hate that feeling in BF3, they over did it entirely IMO. |
