Don't you newbies know how to READ?
We've already HAD the reset from closed to open beta. |

1) CCP will NOT refund any more money spent on Aurum. It is quite obvious they actually want to put those sales in their revenue column at this point. Sense that is the case...
2) There will NOT be any more character resets. I hope most of you are intelligent enough to see the correlation as to why that is so.
3) The "Unless something drastic" clause is basic, everyday "cover yer arse" legal speak. The only thing I can think of "drastic" enough to cause this would be an EMP striking all CCPs servers and erasing info on everyone's accounts. |

did CCP say this somewhere? i find it hard to believe if someone spent real money on aurum equipment, and they reset char's (EMP blast or not) that they would say 'your loss'..
Oh my....
This is what I meant by "most of you being intelligent enough to understand the correlation."
Guess we know where YOU fit in.

I don't doubt that. But...

I also don't doubt that CCP needs to start showing an income stream on their books from this game at this point. I don't know if CCP runs on an off calendar Fiscal Year or not, but it is rather interesting that the Character Reset (and thus the official collecting of money from Aurum purchases) occured practically in the first week of 2013, don't you think?
Simple formula: Another Reset = Forfeiture of all Sales from Aurum Purchases
That's not going to happen. (Unless something "drastic" occurs. ) |

For the record, this actually was stated on the record by CCP. I cannot remember if it was in one of the many Announcement threads concerning the move to Tranquility or the Open Beta, or a Skype conversation that someone posted on here. To paraphrase their post, "We will not be doing anymore Aurum refunds after January 8th." To continue paraphrasing, "As a result, the move to Tranquility will be the LAST character reset, unless something drastic happens."
Let me repeat: If there was another reset, I don't doubt that CCP would "refund" (as in let you have what you bought back yet again - not return your money to your account) all Aurum purchases. However, in the announcement/conversation that I am speaking of that was not explicitly stated.
And for those of you who are in the Business/Accounting/Finance fields, it is a simple hop from A to B to see () that CCP wants (needs) to begin earning those unearned revenues on this product. |

Midas Man ll wrote:CCP banked your money the day you spent it on Aurum, they have not got a pile of ISK (the real isk's) in there icelandic office waiting for the final reset. Aurum is not refundable you cannot ask CCP for your money back (well atleast above normal consumer law and im clueless what that is for online purchases of "imaginary" items) Therefore as soon as you hand CP the cash its on their books. If they did with hold the money they would be facing some akward questions from Mr Tax Man as to why earned revenue wasn't in their books when it was earned.
When it comes to Accounting, you are "showing your ass" as the saying goes. |
