Lozruet Gravemind wrote: Now Im technically a newberry myself (less than 3 or 4 days now) but I know the basics. You Hack Turrets/Depots/Null Cannons and you kill the other guys. But if you havnt taken the time to Read the notes on the load screens or ask someone for help then please PLEASE dont just jump in a game. When I get 500 WP in a game and Im the #1 player on my team then somthing is terribly wrong. Ive played plenty of FPSs and ive played EVE so Dusts general design is not alien to me. But if your going to play any kind of game at least take the 5 minutes it takes to know the most basic of game principles. 500wp? what kind of horrible games did you get stuck in? I can't find myself getting any less then 1k ever. |

Dr Debo Galaxy wrote:really dude? 5 days and YOUR calling people "newberries"?! This is whats wrong here, everyone is an expert after 5 days. If your getting 500wp and telling people what to do then something is really wrong here.
Does anyone have lebron James's e-mail I have to tell him how to shoot free throws. Not entirely sure on what he's trying to get at but he did say, "If i'm geting 500wp and #1 something's wrong" which kind of indicates he's saying that he's about himself, that he's bad and there's no reason he should be #1 on his team. |

Dr Debo Galaxy wrote:My problem is that someone getting 500wp is telling people what they need to do. If you were at a job for a year and the new guy comes in complaining about the new people wouldn't you be a little confused.
i understand he is saying he is new and bad and hr is still getting 1st place. But thats the problem if your new or bad at something should you be telling people what to do? I see his point about asking for help or looking for it, but it's that it's coming from someone who doesn't understand the the game completely. So whats the cut off to tell people how to play, 3 days, 1 day, and hour? Maybe he should let people do as they do and worry about getting a few more days under is belt before calling people newberries or telling them they need to READ this. Are you a bully? Clannad remarks aside. He's not telling people what to do he's saying (begging) if you don't even have the slightest idea of how the games works to take a single second of your life to learn the very very very core basics. Hacking, killing, ect. |

Zat Earthshatter wrote:His message is correct, however. The newberries are still newberries, even if described as such by one of their own.
The issue is that people think they can simply dive into this game like it's CoD - and it's the exact opposite on the FPS spectrum. For starters - you know when the AI asks you "would you like to know more?" At least the first time, say "Yes!" DUST is more complicated and team-focused than your average shooter, and the experienced know how to take every single percentage increase and turn it against you. The very least you can do, is learn what skillpoints mean, and that almost every weapon has a way to be beaten.
This isn't a "I wanna kill everyone right away!" game. That mentality will just cost you ISK. Take a breath, assess a situation, and adjust to it like water. HMG tearing you up? Get a sniper rifle out, or get at his back with a shotgun. Laser Rifle melting you? Again, sniper. Or pull an LAV and get in his face where his weapon does minimal damage. HAV? spawn AV and at least annoy him, if not kill outright. Dropship? Just keep pressure on it, and you're fine - the turrets usually have a hard time hitting while the dropship is moving, so you want to make it move.
Well OP seems to understand this and is just trying to spread the word about actually hacking points instead of rushing into sniper fire and all the likes. |

It's not the kinda manly tears Gurren Lagann Inspired - but damn emotional either way. Q.Q Nah, Ushio dying was the saddest thing ever. Anyways we must either take this to the locker room or PM's soon because at this rate GM's will close this thread. |

Dr Debo Galaxy wrote:he is new and only gets 500 wp. how can he see, no mention of capping ABCDE which would be way more important than turrets/depots.
I didn't get on the forums and read anything and I figured it out. Basically who is a new person to tell people they need to read something and get better.
I feel he needs to read more or get more help. These people are new also, they will learn when and how they learn, and if there was no demand or malice to it, why is read in caps and calling people newberries? That doesn't seem helpfull
Helpfull: hey guys I'm new like you, here is a great resource to get even better, insert players name who is helpfull or link. ENGLISH! DO YOU TRULY UNDERSTAND IT? |
