I've played a couple of corp battles, and they're really fun. But after the battle is over, what was our effect on the universe at large? Can we have a tab on the score screen that gives a summary of our contribution, to Faction Warfare say, beyond having successfully captured or defended a district?
Or is that all there is? |

Dust mercs are already fighting over planets in faction warfare, and affecting how easy it is to win/lose those star systems. |

A summary of the contribution would be great. |

Right, but the point is: how do I know what that is in the game? Are we told? Can we be told when the battle ends? |

Right now the devs are focussed on core game play and testing the basic Dust/Eve interaction. They'll get round to this stuff, and probably fairly soon. Then there's years and years of free expansions coming along after that.
But yes, a summary of the contribution would be lovely. |

I'd also be able to choose what side I fight for. Gallente, Amarr, Minmitar, Caldari. Not just get chosen one at random. I appreciate the fact that it's mercenary work, but I, as a mercenary, would like to be able to choose whom I take contracts from. Perhaps a selection of who I want to fight for in the instant battle queues? |

Your effect on the universe (or at least mine, from what I know) would be fighting to capture planets for your corp- these will not only be a good source of income, but also contribute to your corp's claim of the system. The biggest factors IMO are the people who persistently support an alliance, never back down, and NEVER abandon their allies.
Ironic that the imperfects call people such as us nonfactors, when it's the pure mercenaries like them who will prove to be the true nonfactors. Mercenaries are only tools rented by those who are too weak or lazy to fight for themselves. |

Good question.
You are currently beta testing the game that in the next update will have full blown Faction Warfare system in place, planetary conquest and new weapons and stuff for you to play with.
Right now, focus on beta testing and providing feedback and bug reporting to CCP and they will thank you later in a manner of free expansions and game polish with every update. :) |
