Although many a time i see a bunch of reddots huddled behind a CRU and be nice to have a 100-200 round low damage rifle to attempt to just clean em out. It works well on battlefield and i'm sure a similar item could work as a lightweight weapon make it 15-20hp damage with an ammo cart of 200 rof 600rpm maybe put a tact scope on it too seeing as its normally a ranged weapon it's unnecessary and its a roll heavy's fill quite nicely anyway |

honestly people this just sounds like a worse version of a HMG, there is no need for a LMG. Suppression, only a idiot gets out of cover when a HMG is aimed at you, high rate of fire? why the HMG spits out 2000rpm,medium damage? again so does the HMG, loads of ammo? why 500 round belts and 1200 rounds before we even start skilling up ammo capacity.
you're just asking for a worse version of a class exclusive weapon, the whole point of the HMG being a heavy only weapon is that it gives them an anti-infantry function designed to dominate in close range, an LMG would be a watered down version of a HMG in every respect. Giving an assualt class a weapon that cannot compete with its closest cousin in any respect would be as smart as giving a heavy a nova knife and expecting him to do well |

You make a good point and i like your comparison's, but it comes down would the LMG benefit the game or would it simply be a weapon whose very existence required a range of mods on existing weapons just to guarantee it a niche and to prevent it from becoming an AR with more ammo |

I would want it to have more spread and kick, but a magazine of 150 would to make up for it. It would be extremely useful for dealing with groups of enemies. But again the HMG has a decent spread and it already tears apart groups, the whole point of a heavy is to be a walking turret. I have to say I can't see the LMG being effective as either the AR or HMG, and any effort to put it between them will result in both weapons being changed considerably |
