I haven't experienced this turn speed issue with heavies. I run a keyboard-mouse setup; is there a major imbalance between turn speeds of kbm and pad?
This could of course be just kbm offering much better spatial awareness in general, not allowing flanks. |

All i know is that your accuracy is better because i use thumbs and you use your hand so you have a advantage with more eye hand. i can run in circles where you can only go side to side or diagonal. |

You can't run in cirles with KB&M loadout? Oh, God, no!
I know this is gamepad owners propaganda to prevent us from buying KB&M! |

After changing from 50% to 100% sensativity I have no problems at all. Of course I always play with maxed or close to Sens. so may just be me.
and I really dont see how you people can use KB/M are you PC players and just used to it already? |

KB+M is a superior control for FPS games than controllers. This is a fact, not even debatable. |

Not for everyone. If I was to try and use KB/M I would probly go 0-15 in agame I would normally go 15-0
I can see someone that uses KB/M regularly and is used to that set up usint it more effectively but I been using the PS controller for over 15yrs now X-box controllers even give me Hand cramps after extended play.
My hands are molded to use the Controller anything else is far less superior. |

I am glad to know that somehow you adapted to the gamepad. The truth is that avg. KB&M player will be better than the best pad player. |

The turn speeds are supposed to be the same ... they were set to be limited for each suit so that there wouldn't be any advantage to kbm use ... both should be able to spin round at the same speed no matter how fast you move the mouse.
That said ... we are still in beta and if anyone's tested this recently and thinks there's much of a difference it should be bug reported.
I use kbm with assault suit ... I can try the pad tonight to look at the difference, but I can't aim or track targets for toffee with the pad ... as Dropkick said ... I'm just used to it from PC and not used to FPS play on console ... played a bit of GTA n Gran Tourismo n stuff, but not really any FPS games. |

As someone who has tried both KB&M and PS3 controller for over 10 hours each I actually prefer the PS3 controller.
I can manage my recoil on tac rifles much better on the ps3 controller because It makes small adjustments to realign, for me realigning with a mouse is not quite as efficient. The controller also scrolls at the same speed as running assault players at my optimal ranges. This is a lot easier than tracking a player with a mouse for me. I lose a bit of accuracy with the controller, but my overall killing ability is slightly higher.
I agree with perfect skills with a KB&M you have a clear advantage, just watch CS competitive play. The average player will probably not have nearly as big of an advantage as they think. I can do really well with either input. |

I'm decent with KB+M, and decent with a controller.
I feel more comfortable with the controller, because I prefer to use short-range low-accuracy weapons where the level of precision control a mouse offers over the aiming stick isn't as large an advantage as the extra movement control offered by the movement stick vs. WASD.
Both options have advantages and disadvantages, and for how I play, the advantages of the controller outweigh the advantages of KB+M.
Of course, in a game WITHOUT a hard cap on turn speed, KB+M control has an undeniable advantage, because the standard console controller has to sacrifice precision for turning speed, or vice versa, while a mouse user can have both. |

Oh god, not this debate again... Yes, when turn speeds that are ungodly, uber-unrealistically high are available, and changing direction happens on a dime, you can certainly do better with kbm. When you limit the turn speeds to realistic levels, they average out. In a game like this where those issues are balanced out, you get a little more accuracy with kbm once you are used to it, but the movement in game is smoother/less blocky (strafing/back and forward strafing) and the movement range feels rounder, and the freedom of movement IRL is a definite plus.
Once you are truly skilled with a controller, the aim advantage that the kbm provides is negligible to nonexistent, and all of the other advantages a kbm setup WOULD have are held in check by the movement parameters of the game.
So while a kbm IS better in games with unrealistic movement settings, here in this setting the difference is neigh nonexistent but for a small boost in your aim that cam be overcome by practicing with a controller long enough. Check the leaderboards, a large percentage of those guys at the top use a controller, not kbm. The proof is already available for everyone.
In fact, would any of the top 100 care to share if they use a kbm or a controller please? I would be interested to know the exact count myself. |

And yet the top corp in dust currently runs with the controller. There is no K&M player that can top them yet. So, I guess you must be full of it.
It's a matter a taste. |

Exactly, it's really just a matter what you're used to. I personally find the controller to be lacking simply because I never really played FPS using a controller, hence my choice goes to the KBM.
The KBM however is seriously lacking as soon as I climb into a vehicle, as the turning keys are 0-100, no sensitivity in turning there!
I don't think I'll be switching to controller anytime soon as I feel my accuracy and general game play is much better with the KBM.
