The thing is since the Newberry arrival our forums have become......well exploding with OP threads and that's crap.
Any blueberry classic knows there are many tactics and weapons to counter everything in the game atm.
The problem is everyone wants 1 class that will rule them all, instead on relying on their other team mates in different class's to lay a helping hand as they may be the counter.
That and at current most people are skilling into AR which doesn't give enough diversity to have the counters and balance like a team game should.
There's a reason why in eve every fleet has a specific fleet comp so they have a certain number of specialized ships to do 1 job and counter another fleets comps if possible.
It's all strategy and people used to the normal fps game will not understand why they need to think the battle out and not just run in holding down r1 expecting instant kills.
Elaboration.
I will only go into offense, normally I'd rather see people running around like chickens with their heads chopped off but for the sake of all the damn nerf threads and the fear that my precious game will be shat upon. here it is
Lets start with lasers. my specialty.
Lasers are area denial weapons, If my team is about to take lets say objective C, then my job is to deny that area to the enemy,
how? by keeping suppressive fire so if you happen to move, you die. keeping you hiding behind cover so that you are not blazed by my lil' friend the viziam.
While you are pinned the next on the list to move forward would be the breacher, a.k.a the mass driver.
the mass driver should be throwing a flux grenade to start the party where the enemy is taking cover from the laser denying the enemys location. after the flux goes off he should do his/her job and breach an entry point, where the enemy is holding up trying to hold onto their area, so simple flux grenade then driver the area to kill off the enemy front line.
Third in should be the heavy with HMG, to wreck havoc on any remaining enemys left in the breaching point.
Fourth in should be the AR guys as main support and DPS for their specialized agents that just breached into enemy lines.
along with shotgun support.
The next in should be the logistics, taking cover behind what they can and keeping the heavys and AR users alive.
Snipers main job should be to stop the enemy troops from having backups try and pile in, by pilling them off 1 by 1 as they try to rebreach the objective.
Forge gunners should be in the back to support the breaching troops in case the enemy troops have any vehicles which would inhibit a clean breach.
There is alot more to this but this is just the general idea, and it shows that each category of soldier has its place and its balance, try and think on this and how counter balances to each would work, how to counter each speciality.
I'm not going to go into defense, because, well that's mine to keep and you can figure it out yourselves.
Stop with the oh god please nerf this weapon its OP posts when you don't understand the roles in the game and want that 1 class will rule them all shooter.
Trolls welcome, this is my belief system on how it works, theres many different ways. After playing eve for 10 years I know that each specialty is there for a reason and each has its counter just like in dust.
