Not QQ, just wall of text to all you pros with your awesome technical knowledge on what is and what is not possible.
Yesterday night. I have no lag whatsoever (40ms flat), everything moves fluently and I can hit everybody on the other team except 1 guy. I mean not all the time, just in some very weird setups -- when he's aware of me being there. Guy is wearing STD Assault with GEK, so max shield/armor at this point I'd assume <300 each. Direct shotgun from 2m with weaponry 5 should make a dent, but.
Guy is in a narrow space, no room for sway, two our assaults attack him from the other end, putting in fire from standard ARs. Guy does not side step, only turns around to face my blues and takes at one of them -- kills him. At this point there is nothing going on to his shields, while I see them fire & connect. The other one is now still shooting him frontally, and I'm behind, closing the distance and starting to unload my SH in hopes of saving at least one of those poor noobs. Guys shields flash from AR and SH, but there is NOTHING happening to the bars. 3 shots packed, he now killed the second blue and I see my last chance -- can touch him now -- unloading last one in his head. Nothing happens, he's turning around and when he's half way there his AR starts shooting at near 90 deg angle (!) and downs me in blink (T1 logi). He leaves without a scratch. Entire action lasted maybe 6 seconds from eye contact to 3 of us dead.
WTF?
This then happens 3 times out of 5 fights we get into. I down him twice in a lucky CQC gun&run when he was moving on red-controlled grounds. I have no problems with any of other reds whatsoever, damage always registers on them in the same match and I end up with something like 25/5. Three downs from this guy, that can not be hit by me in f2f fight without moving a muscle.
Any takers on what is happening? |

Obviously 6 seconds is a bit of an exageration but i would be pretty confident this was the issue you were seeing. Good theory, but still:
* The ping was 40ms flat whole time and no lost packets.
* He did not strafe at all, he was in closed space and there was no strafing movement whatsoever.
* Only had this happen vs this ONE guy in the whole match (three times). Killed other guys no problem. Moving and strafing guys.
* Everything else worked as expected througout the match, normal movement and normal kills on moving targets.
* This delay was shared between me and 2 randoms who tried to pick on the guy as well and did him no harm.

Muahahahaha Meh, you're shotgunnable. STELI0S is sniperable. Chris is forge'able. The hate for you guys was due to you running really buffed suits and solid squads. After last reset you were a lot easier to match and it was actually fun to try to give you a hug. |
